Cumbria is usually full of amazing events, festivals, music, food & drink and art – we know that 2021 maybe a little different.<\/h4>\n

Our walks and hikes are legendary, and you can choose from a potter around a Lake to a full day fell top walk. Alternatively, our gardens offer a chance to be at one with nature, have a gentle stroll and a view, and generally enjoy that wonderful feeling of being outside.<\/p>\n

Here’s what we have so far on dates for some of the bigger events, but also some ideas of places to go and enjoy the great outdoors.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Things to Do in the Lakes in 2021 in the great outdoors<\/h2>\n

Brockhole Visitor Centre<\/strong> – right by Lake Windermere, adventure playground, garden trails, shop, caf\u00e9, the Gaddum Restaurant, Tree Top Trek, kayak\/canoe hire, archery, pony rides.<\/p>\n

Low Sizergh Barn, Farm Shop & Farm Trail<\/strong> – award-winning National Trust farm, selling delicious local produce, crafts and art. Raw Milk, homemade cakes, pastries and a cheese counter to rival all others in the shop. Tea-room, watch the cows being milked at 3.30pm. every day.<\/p>\n

Lakeland Farm Visitor Centre, Ings,<\/strong> near Windermere. With farm shop, kitchen, butchers and an Arena where you can release your inner farmer.<\/p>\n

Alpacaly Ever After – Bassenthwaite<\/strong>. This family-run farm rescues alpacas and llamas, and you can visit, walk with them and experience their relaxing personalities.<\/p>\n

Graythwaite Adventure, Windermere<\/strong> – for high adrenaline fun in the form of water-based, or land-based activities – for just the two of you or larger groups. Off-roading, archery, dinghy\/raft races, paddleboarding etc<\/p>\n

Things to Do in the Lakes in 2021 when the weather sends you indoors<\/h2>\n

Climbing Walls – <\/strong>Keswick, Ambleside, Kendal. Our local friendly climbing walls are great for practice or if the weather turns. With cafes, music and a friendly vibe you’ll be most welcome.<\/p>\n

Rheged, Penrith – <\/strong>Open all year, with shops, cafes, art galleries, a cinema and changing exhibitions. Lots of space and a great way to spend an afternoon, and have lunch too.<\/p>\n
