Fell Foot Park is a lovely spot right on the south of Lake Windermere, near Newby Bridge and is owned by the National Trust.\u00a0 Park up for the day – and if you’ve National Trust Membership your parking will be free!\u00a0 At Fell Foot you’ll find room to walk, run, picnic, paddle and play.\u00a0 There’s a new watersports centre being built at the moment, which is going to be exciting when its finished – but you can still hire rowing boats, and kayaks now.<\/p>\n
You can have a trip up the Lake too, with the Windermere Lake Cruises launch which calls at Fell Foot regularly.<\/p>\n
There’s a small tea-room and tables outside where you can drink in the view, right up to Fairfield and the high fells beyond.\u00a0 Even if you’re not into fell walking you can sit and enjoy the majesty of the surrounding landscape from the comfort of your chair or picnic table..\u00a0 Fell Foot is open all year round, and is lovely to visit in the different seasons.\u00a0 If you’ve a family and youngsters to entertain on a summers day, get yourself down there with a picnic blanket, enjoy the adventure playground and maybe even have a swim or a paddle in the lake!\u00a0 There’s a designated area for barbecues too.<\/p>\n
The National Trust also have lots of seasonal events on too, bat walks, and nature walks.\u00a0 There’s a wild-flower hay meadow right at the bottom of the lake too for a bit of peace and quiet with nature.<\/p>\n
