Mother’s Day this year falls on the last day of March – the 31st, so if you’re heading up to the Lakes and celebrating Mother’s Day, why not stay the weekend and really indulge mum?<\/p>\n

If your mum likes afternoon tea, there are scores of places to try in the Lakes.From posh hotels, to cute cafes, fabulous farms, tea-rooms and pubs, and distilleries and breweries, everyone is busy making their own afternoon tea with a twist.<\/p>\n

A few of our favourites are The Gaddum at Brockhole, Low Sizergh Barn,<\/a> near Kendal; Chesters by the River<\/a>, The Fizzy Tarte in Bowness. Hawkshead Brewery & Beer Hall<\/a> in Staveley also who do Cumbrian ‘Tapas’ and the Wild Boar<\/a> at Crook, near Kendal who offer a more savoury afternoon tea.<\/p>\n
