Stuart “I would just like to say how relaxing and peaceful it was at lodge .”
We really enjoyed sharing the space with the sheep

Sue “Everything Perfect”
- Sue, July 2022Johanna “Perfect location for some well earned rest!”
Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Great location for walks and lakes.
- Johanna, November 2021Thank you for your kind words, Mrs Murray. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at High Borrans, Grove,. A great location and a beautifully presented lodge. The perfect place to relax! We do hope we welcome you again in the near future. Property Owner
Janette “Lodge was lovely, spotless and very comfy.”
Bed was the best we had slept in when staying away. Beautiful area and very peaceful.
- Janette, October 2021Tom “Great accommodation.”
The only few points I would say are it would be great to have more than four mugs and tea spoons so that washing up does not have to happen so often when wanting a cup of tea or coffee. Also there was a very loud dripping outside the bedroom whenever there was any rain (saldy in the lake district this happened frequently. This kept my wife and I awake a lot. It might be a gutter leak so could be an easy fix. Other than these we would definitely come back.
- Tom, September 2021Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in the Lakes. Unfortunately there is a lot of rain in the Lake District and I apologies if this affected your stay and will pass this maintenance issue on to the owner. We look forward to you returning in the future. Property Owner
Michelle “We have visited high borrans a few times now.”
We absolutely love it . Its so peaceful a home from home. We will be booking the grove again soon.
- Michelle, September 2021Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear of how much you enjoyed another stay with us. High Borrans Farm is definitely one to visit and the lodges they have including Grove Lodge are fantastic. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner
Abigail “The Grove lodge was comfortable and extremely clean with all the amenities you need, plus a fully equipped kitchen.”
We tried out some of the walks from High Borrans and also walked from Ambleside which is a 10-15 minute drive away. Overall, a great weekend getaway and would definitely recommend!
- Abigail, July 2021Robert “Superb, well furnished and located cabin in lovely surroundings.”
Check out the microbrewery pub in Ings, so good we went twice in a row!
- Robert, June 2021Nadia “Everything was absolutely amazing!”
The lodge was beautifully furnished with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom is by far the best feature, with a huge bath and shower. The lodge isn’t too far from Kendal and other towns where food and leisure activities are available. However, please note that the lodge gets extremely hot when the sun is out!
- Nadia, June 2021Hayley “We had an amazing time in the Lake District and loved our stay at High Borrans.”
We would highly recommend it. The lodge was well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in a perfect location and a short drive into Windermere. My only suggestion on improvement is to add a curtain or black out curtain in the bedroom as it is pretty much daylight from 5am with light coming through the Venetian blinds and as it was our first lie in’s without children in over a year I would have loved a longer sleep. :) Only minor gripe was lack of internet as the WiFi was down completely during the last day and night of our stay. We would definitely recommend and re visit High Borrans if visiting this area again.
- Hayley, May 2021Mr Oliver Lacey “We stayed for two nights and it was amazing.”
The location is perfect, quiet and remote but close enough to shops and restaurants. The lodge its self was just fab too. Comfortable and clean and very smart. Would definitely stay again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location and property were fantastic. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk from High Borrans
- Mr Oliver Lacey, Oct 2020Mrs Caroline Meyerhoff “The lodge was spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard.”
The location was perfect for us because we needed to relax and recharge after working non stop through this awful pandemic. It was lovely and peaceful but still only 10 minutes from Windermere. This holiday exceeded our expectations. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Peaceful setting and the stunning lodge. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? We love Coniston Waters and would definitely recommend eating at The Bluebird Cafe on the lake.
- Mrs Caroline Meyerhoff, Sep 2020Miss Lois Upton “My partner and I had a really lovely time at High Borrans Grove, the farm is nicely tucked away and in a picturesque location.”
The lodge was immaculate and decorated beautifully. The location was perfect too, it is 10-15 mins drive away from Windemere and very close to Ambleside and Grasmere. We also hired the electric bikes, I would highly recommend spending a day on the bikes exploring the beautiful surrounding areas. Overall, I would highly recommend one of the lodges at High Borrans and hope to return one day. My only (tiny) negative point was that the TV remote didn't work very well but we managed! 10/10. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The beautiful lodge and the surrounding areas. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Hiring electric bikes for the day

Clear instructions and information. The lodge is hidden away off the main roads, allowing you to fully escape the busy life. However only a short drive from Windermere and the lake. The lodge is perfect - it has everything you need and is extremely clean and fresh. Amazing views from the decking and the only sound you can hear are a few sheep in the neighbouring field. - Mr David Dyment, Nov 2019Mr Mike Harris “This was our third visit to High Borans and will not be our last.”
Guaranteed peace and quiet, sadly good weather not guaranteed! Have stayed in Holt and Grove and could recommend either. Great place for a break, good walking and Kendal and Windermere bothclose by. The Italian restaurant in Windermere, San Pietro, and The Mortal Man at Troutbeck are excellent places to eat. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The great sheep escape and roundup by the farm collie! What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk up Orris View, which is about a 2 hour round trip from the Lodge.
