Morecambe Bay is well-worth a visit for beautiful, sandy beaches, where you can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade before stopping off in the West End Gardens. Slightly further afield you can reach Kendal, a bustling market town home to an array of cultural and historic wonders including the Quaker Tapestry Museum, the Kendal War Museum, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal Castle and much more to keep all ages and tastes entertained. Carnforth 2.2 miles. Lakeside 16 is a charming lodge located near Carnforth, Cumbria, in the South Lakeland Leisure Village. The lodge offers a family of six contemporary conveniences, open-plan living, and off-road parking for two cars, with easy access to the seaside, fishing lakes, and the Lake District National Park. When you arrive at the lodge, you'll see a front porch with rattan furniture and cushions where you may unwind with a nice beverage after a day of excursions. Inside, the open-plan living area has been tastefully decorated with trendy furnishings, a plush corner sofa to sink into, and a Smart TV; turn on the electric fire for added warmth on chilly nights! Set the table for six people ready for supper, which can be easily cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, which has an electric oven, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher. After supper, relax in the family bathroom, which features a corner bath with a shower above it and a heated towel rail. The double bedroom features a wall-mounted TV with a gorgeous en-suite shower room, and there are two twin bedrooms to select from. All three bedrooms are lovingly decorated with storage space, bedside lights, pillows and throws to make you feel perfectly at home. Begin your vacation by wandering South Lakeland Leisure Village, which offers fishing lakes and the Waters Edge Restaurant, where you can take a break from cooking. The Arnside & Silverdale AONB is just on your doorstep, as is the market town of Carnforth, which has supermarkets and ancient inns. The Lakeland Nature Oasis will delight children, while RSPB Leighton Moss and the Silverdale Coast are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and walkers. Morecambe, a bustling coastal town with many entertainments, Morecambe Beach, and Morecambe Golf Club, is a short distance away, while Lancaster, with its 12th-century castle and spectacular panoramic views from Williamson Park, has much history to discover. If you want to be in the countryside, visit Ingleborough and White Scar Caves, the Ribblehead Viaduct, and plenty of footpaths in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Forest of Bowland AONB is also nearby, offering unspoiled scenery for walking or cycling, and the Lake District National Park is only a short drive away. Start your day in Windermere with watersports and boat tours along the beautiful lake, attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and Orrest Head Viewpoint, and ancient monuments like Wray Castle, which is owned by the National Trust. Located just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the scenic Lake District, Carnforth is the sort of place that everyone has heard of, and many desire to discover this hidden gem. Situated at the north end of Morecambe Bay, north of the historic town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and a hop and a skip from the Lake District, it is close to absolutely everywhere! Other local attractions include Greenlands Farm Village for crafts, local produce, a play area, café and a garden centre. The lovely area just north of Carnforth has tidal sands bordering the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay. It offers plenty of pleasant walks and opportunity to see local birds and wildlife in this fabulous area of Lancashire. Don't forget to visit the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
Please Note: Leisure passes are not included but available at a weekly or daily rate payable at the leisure centre. Course Fishing is available with three lakes to choose from offering pike and Carp fishing. The fishing is free to guests, a rod license required.
