“I'm always careful about recommending holidays to people as everyone has their own likes, dislikes, etc.”
However our recent stay at Bramble Bank, has to be one of the best breaks we've ever had. We are both in our forties and so it was just the two of us and our dog. Although, I feel that anyone of any age could visit here and would enjoy.
The site itself is immaculate, with well thought out and carefully positioned lodges. Bramble Bank is tucked away in a little cul-de-sac with parking for one car.
The lodge was spotlessly clean and even better equipped than our house! A nice little welcome pack of biscuits and essentials to get you going too. Bedroom was spacious with good storage and although we found the mattress slightly hard, we understand that it is impossible to suit everybody's requirements. A second bedroom was also well equipped for those taking additional people. The kitchen/living area was also a good size and we spent evenings sitting on the sofa watching the sky change throughout the evening. The bathroom was great with a powerful electric shower.
The veranda was maintained and very spacious with a good quality patio set. The hot-tub! What can I say about the hot-tub? Just that this really was one of the highlights for us. Bramble Bank is quite secluded and so we spent every evening in that tub, with a plastic glass of red wine! Absolutely loved it! It also had the bonus of having a huge parasol next to it, so even the rain didn't stop us from using it.
The location is great for venturing out and we walked out of site and turned left, which takes you to a nice area with plenty going on if you have young children. We also drove out to Ulverston - Low Stott Park, for a lovely walk.
We always bring our own food etc. However, we did use the local Spar (out of complex and turn right) and found their prices very reasonable.
We will definitely be booking next year as not only is the site perfect, but the Lake District has such a lot to offer.
Hope you enjoy it and much as we did!
