“Really lovely cottage with wonderful views of the lake.”

The cottage was really clean, tidy and extremely comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Only thing we would say to improve is the Wi-Fi (although we hardly needed to use it) was not working, it wouldn’t connect and therefore was unable to use the full functionality of the smart tv. The beds were really comfortable and clean, along with the shower facilities which were very clean also. The hot tub was lovely, it is well positioned so you can look at the beautiful lake. “The property is in a lovely area and very peaceful.”

Clean and comfortable. I did have an issue with the main door in the fact that I had trouble locking the door from the inside. I immediately range the maintenance number that was given but was an answerphone, left a message but nobody contacted me back the whole time I was there. Also the Wifi was not great could not connect at all during the stay. They were just a few niggles. The facilities at the White Cross Bay would have been ok if the restaurant wasn't closed for lunch and they actually did the takeaway that was stated. I know that is nothing you can do about that. I would definitely recommend the lodge and the area.

“Footprints by the Lake is a lovely, really well positioned lodge.”

The view from the deck to the marina and lake is lovely and offers a really relaxing place to sit and watch life at the marina with a range of seating. There is a large wrap around deck with the hot tub in a nice private section to the side. The accommodation was very comfortable and we found the lodge to be very clean. The features in the description online don’t mention that there is a washing machine but this is an added benefit for a family holiday. Whitecross bay is really well situated to access lots of places and lots of activities in the surrounding area for family members of all ages. We would definitely recommend this holiday park and lodge and would look to book again.

“To whom it may concern.”

The property is already vacated. We left today. I would like to give some feedback regarding the lodge. 1. The lodge was not cleaned to a high standard. There were cobwebs on ceilings in most rooms , living room ceiling had reminants of something that had sprayed onto it and stains, spillages up walls and on all dining room chairs. 2.ensuite shower not draining properly and so the cover floated once the tray became full which revealed a very filthy area underneath. 3.toilet brushes dirty and only 2 toilet rolls provided for 6 people to last friday to monday! Luckily we had some of our own. 4. Bread bin and hob dirty. 5. one cup chipped in cupboard , not used and left there insitu 6. Shards of glass next to hot tub, again left insitu and rim green with moulf Beddding lovely and clean, beds comfortable. Site lovely with gorgeous views. As the printed note inside lodge reminds us to leave as we find and follow instructions to strip beds etc i think the owner has a responsibility to ensure things are clean and hygenic and reflect the money being charged. Many thanks Mrs S Adams I emailed you this on sunday 20th march when we came home a day early.

“Excellent property, well equipped with everything you need.”

We cooked in every night and utilised the hot tub every evening - the lodge is in such a perfect location, by the lake. We walked into Bowness and Windemere and explored the local area. Caught sunset from the hot tub and also the top of a mountain. The only thing missing for our stay was the complimentary bath store toiletries, (as stated on the description) in our bathrooms, as we hadn’t brought enough with us we had to nip to the shop! Nevertheless, would definitely stay again.

“Really enjoyed our stay at footprints.”

The lodge is beautifully kept. There is everything you need for a great holiday. All sofas chairs and beds were very clean. (The main bed was a little to hard for us). My children loved the fact that they could take themselves down to the lake for a swim and we had the added bonus of being able to see them from the lodge whilst enjoying the decking. We had a couple of days where the bi fold doors would stick and where hard to open and close. All in all we had a wonderful break and would love to go back.

“Lodge 5 footprints by the lake.”

Lovely comfortable lodge.however not quite the direct view of lake we had thought from the pictures.main negatives though we’re lack of air conditioning (was stifling hot not ideal for 15 month old) and business of the holiday park.latter was most offputting favour.lodge was next to main thoroughfare and because in front of marina had no privacy at all.also other lodges were very noisy often until 1am!and as so hot in lodge had all windows open.park was very busy and crammed together.on first night we got delayed for our dinner reservation as a lorry was trying to reverse down with a cabin on its trailer!at 5pm!!not ideal timing for a Friday afternoon.was cue of cars waiting to get past it in either direction was an absolute mare with a hungry baby in a very hot car.we did enjoy but eoujj ok don’t visit again

There is part view of the lake to the side. Very good access to all of the lakes via public transport only 5 minutes walk from the lodge. Only one constructive criticism is Parkdean order & pay APP needs updating but the lodge itself well worth a stay.

The lodge itself was so spacious and to a very high standard and the location, so close to the Lake, meant the views were incredible. The hot tub was a wonderful addition and great for soaking achey legs after lots of walking. The park itself was ideally situated for exploring the Lakes, with Bowness and Ambleside being within walking distance and a nearby bus stop meant we could explore further into the Lakes without needing to drive anywhere, with very regular buses. The lodge was immaculate and is finished to high standard. The whole process for access etc was easy and done via text messages for access code for barriers and key boxes. The views from the lodge were first class and location literally stone through from lake. Hot tub was great of course. The location of the site is under 10 min drive from Bowness on Windermere so again great. The lodge has a fantastic view of the marina which can also be seen from the lovely extra addition...a hot tub. Whitecross bay is in a great location. “Well what can I say to express how happy we were with our stay at Footprints by the lake?”

. We went on a friday for my husbands birthday weekend and the minute we got there we felt relaxed. We stayed in on the friday and had drinks and nibbles and just took in the true beauty of the lake, when your sat on the couch you have a great view of the water and some of the amazing boats being put in the water. The lodge itself it stunning and we were a little self aware that the carpet was a light grey and really didnt want to mark it what with raining when we got there. Personally would of picked a dark shade ha. The kitchen has everything you need, just bring your food. The tele in the double room was a little frustrating as the remote didnt seem to work and we had to switch it off at the socket as it wouldnt go off but it really is just little things. The hot tub is an amazing addition and even when it is a little windy and cool the hot tub is a great place to be to relax and watch the world go by. About the location

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Footprints by the Lake is accessed by 6 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot and highchair are not provided, please bring your own. The travel cot will fit in the master bedroom or the twin bedroom.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.

Hot Tubs

For the comfort of other holidays guests we request that noise is kept to a minimum. Usage of the hot tub is between 10am and 10pm only. If you are found to breach these timings then you may be asked to vacate the park with no call for a refund.

All hot tubs are maintained to strict industry standards and HSE guidelines by separate qualified independent contractors on behalf of the property owners. This includes changing the water between guest stays and checking the water condition on a regular basis.

Whilst every effort is made to have a hot tub ready for immediate use by the arrival time stated, this may not always be possible. In such cases the hot tub will usually be ready to use later that day unless otherwise advised. In such cases no compensation or refund is payable unless the hot tub is faulty.

Information about using a hot tub safely is provided at all lodges with a hot tub and on a prominent notice near the tub. All hot tub users should wear an appropriate bathing suit.
