“The property is in a dream location and very well equipped in general, with excellent heating and other amenities.”

However, there are a few downsides. The WiFi is not up to any standard for the price. The single beds in the smaller rooms should have been advertised as children's size. They are far too small for a fully grown adult. Furthermore a more hands on cleaning service could be provided. Asking guests to take out the rubbish without providing enough bin liners nor enough toilet paper for the number of guests and nights is not in line with my expectations and experience for the price.

“Perfect location on the edge of the lake, stunning views of Windermere.”

Quiet, spotless and fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. Easy check in/out. Staff in the nearby holiday park centre very helpful with suggestions for walk and activities. TV is limited so if you're planning some indoor time take dvd's. We spent a lot of time on the balcony, morning coffee feeding the robin and evening hot chocolate watching the sun go down. Our first visit to the Lakes and definitely not our last.

“The view of the lake from the lodge and especially from the large decking area was fantastic especially at night watching the sunset.”

The beds were so comfortable and the clean as was the whole lodge and I was surprised at how well insulated the lodge was from noise both inside and out. We had a few days of rain and chill during our September visit but the heating system made for a very snug stay. I would highly recommend this lodge and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thankyou to the owners for their thoughtfulness.

“MVL is one of the nicest lodges we have stayed in.”

It has a great location and everything you'll need for a lovely stay. The only thing I'd say is they need to reduce the size of the Horse Chestnut tree that's next to the decking asap. Good chances of us returning next year that's for sure. PS, I don't know what Sykes Experience is as I booked through LDLH so just gave it a 5.

“Lodge was great as it was last time we stayed in Marina view and we would recomend this lodge .”

The only issue we had was down to the site management as some lodges had groups of people all mail and all female who just wanted to party and left the grassed area by the lake littered with empty drinks bottles park staff had to clear up after them ( thanks ) .

On arrival we found the boiler had been leaking but after a quick phone call a boiler repair man came around within 30 minutes and sorted the problem,1st class service and we would stay in this lodge again. “The Lodge was great,the park was great the only thing we did,t like was the dinning area/clubhouse in the complex .”

We could't sit down to a meal because there was a disco going on,it was to loud we could't eat a meal in peace with all the noise ,so we left. I have never been to a holiday camp where the entertainment room and eating room were joined together,they should be separate so people can eat a meal in piece ,plus tow of what we ordered they did't have. I know this is not your fault and Its not a negative point against your lodge. The people who run the park need to address this problem ,we can't be the only ones who like to eat a meal in peace. I am not talking about background music,this was some sort of show going on and very loud. As I said before ,the lodge was great,location was great,park area was great. Only thing that let it down was parking at side of lodge, it was really tight to get round as there is a lodge ajasent with a large balcony causing an obstruction. “Stunning views of the lake and hills.”

Loads to do. We went walking, boating, golfing and also eating and drinking. Used the bus stop outside the park a lot to get around. Also walked into Ambleside a few times. The site is clean and well maintained. And safe, with security patrol at night. The lodge was perfect too, except for one drawer in the kitchen which had crumbs in. I guess it had been missed by accident as the rest was immaculate. Lovely and warm in the lodge. Bathrooms basic:clean but small. Showers a bit feeble, especially if the other one also in use, or dishwasher on! Towels lovely a nd fluffy and bedding soft. Sofas comfy too. Didn't use the swimming pool so can't comment. “We loved our stay at Marina View.”

The location of the lodge couldn't be better, right on the lake shore with stunning views. The lodge was very clean and provided everything you should need for a comfortable stay. We didn't use the facilities at White Cross, opting to eat out or on the decking at the lodge, but it looked ok and very family friendly. Our 2 children loved the stay as much as we did and enjoyed playing on the grass area in front of the lodge and feeding the ducks every morning. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to return next Easter! Also the service from Lake District Lodges was fantastic, easy to use and there if you needed them for anything. Welcome to Marina View, a beautiful three bedroom holiday lodge with lake views Marina View offers modern and stylish accommodation in the heart of the Lake District. It enjoys a sought after quiet and private lake front location at White Cross Bay. The lodge is beautifully furnished and the owners have spared no expense to make it a wonderful holiday home and welcoming place to stay. Marina View will sleep up to 6 guests plus an infant in a travel cot. With stunning views across Windermere and the mountains beyond, it's an ideal base from which to explore this stunning national park. Imagine waking up and looking out across the lake with your morning coffee... Sorry we are unable to accept dogs at Marina View Lodge. Please note the following: Marina View is a family friendly lodge. When booking this property, full guest details will be requested if not provided at the time of booking. The owner reserves the right to turn down a booking if they feel the property is unsuitable for a certain party makeup or if they believe the property might be put at risk by a specific group. Only 7 night stays available arriving on either a Friday or Saturday between the months of June and September. Although this lodge does not accept dogs, the owner takes their own family dog when staying. About the location

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Marina View is accessed by 6 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot and highchair are provided within the lodge. They are kept in the master bedroom wardrobes.

Please note: Marina View is a family friendly lodge. When booking this property, full guest details will be requested if not provided at the time of booking. The owner reserves the right to turn down a booking if they feel the property is unsuitable for a certain party makeup or if they believe the property might be put at risk by a specific group.

The 3rd bedroom does have narrow single beds which may not be suitable for adults.

Although Marina View Lodge does not accept dogs, the lodge owners do occasionally take their own dog when staying.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
