“We had a wonderful week long stay - so much so we're going to book again for next year!”

The lodge itself is fantastic with outstanding views of the surrounding hills and fells. My only minor criticisms would be to have salt & pepper available and the fridge never seemed quite cold enough, even on the highest setting. But all in all, a 5 star stay.

“Brilliant elevated position in the park.”

The children's play area was lovely and the stream for paddling was so beautiful. Cannot really fault amenities. The lodge had everything we required, from kitchen equipment to cleanliness and comfortable beds. The Haybarn inn was welcoming and meals lovely. I don't know what else to say apart from we all thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't wait to return after a day out to relax and enjoy the fantastic scenery.

“The property was very comfortable and felt spacious for our party of 2 adults and 3 children.”

The beds were comfortable and the property was warm with plenty of hot water for baths and showers. The washing machine and tumble dryer was a welcome bonus. The park itself is in a great location with easy access to Windermere and Ambleside and we enjoyed many walks in the area. The view from the property was wonderful and the children especially enjoyed the adventure playground. One minor gripe was the lack of equipment in the kitchen. There were no baking trays, making it difficult to use the oven to cook food in the evening. There were no cleaning products (e.g. antibacterial spray, bleach) to keep the kitchen clean and only one tea towel and one cloth were provided for the week. Given the amount charged for a week’s stay I would have expected these basic necessities to have been available.

“We've just arrived back from a very comfortable stay at Sunnybank Lodge which was exactly how the pictures show it to be.”

It is situated in a perfect position in the park with wonderful views and without being overlooked by other lodges. The widescreen T.V. was perfect and showed all the normal channels and all our phones worked perfectly so no problems with keeping in contact with our family if need be. We will definitely book again when wanting a break in the lake district. I'd also like to say a thank you for our treats they were a lovely surprise and very much enjoyed by all. “We have just returned after a fantastic stay at Sunnybank Lodge.”

It was very clean and comfortable and meant that when the weather wasn't great we were happy to have a chill day in the lodge. The games that had been left were a very welcomed treat our kids loved playing the Monopoly. The only downside is that when we looked to rebook for next year the price has doubled I understand that the prices generally have increased but this seems like a massive increase. Neverless if you are looking for a home away from home I would highly recommend this lodge

The view from the windows must be one of the best on the site due to its elevated position. For my mum who finds it hard to walk it was also convenient for the on-site pub. We had a great stay and can't wait until we get another opportunity to stay there.

“This is our second time staying in Sunnybank lodge and in general I'd recommend it.”

It is very clean, spcious and modern. Located in an excellent location with some of the best views on all of the site. The only slight drawback (and the reason for not giving 5 stars) is that the kitchen is lacking in basic equipment (roasting tins, a good range of untensils, a decent frying pan etc). This may seem a small issue but our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children and we stayed for 11 nights and therefore used the kitchen alot. So this lack of decent equipment did start to hamper us. Not a major issue just something I'd recommend is addressed especially considering the near 50% price increase for the same dates next year.

The park was its usual self, well maintained and peaceful. Sunnybank lodge was excellent, very clean and modern. We could not fault the lodge at all, inside and out. The hay barn pub is ok for eating, maybe a bit basic but on par with say, a high street pub chain. We would recommend a short walk up to the mortal man or the queens head. Out of the park, turn right and maybe a hundred yards walking on the grass verge then you will come to a path through the fields and the mortal man is signposted back across the road up a tarmac lane into the village of Troutbeck or carry on walking across the field which brings you directly outside the queens head. Both are lovely pubs and dog friendly, with very friendly bar staff,

We couldn't believe it when we arrived how stunning the views were from the outside deck. Inside the lodge was very clean and spacious. Every room was bright and beautifully furnished and comfortable. The park itself has lovely areas to explore and It was easy to get to surrounding attractions such as Brockhole Park, Windermere and Ambleside. The park itself was beautiful, lovely pub and walks and 10 minutes from the lake / Bowness in a taxi. The lodge itself was situated in an ideal location and was immaculate and the facilities were beyond our expectation. The staff were very friendly i would highly recommend staying here. The only thing that was missing from the lodge was a BBQ! However, the reception on site sold disposable ones! Already looking forward to returning at the end of the summer. It was perfect for us as it had the 3 bedrooms. The en-suite was an added bonus. The view from the lodge was amazing, I am sure it is the best lodge on the site. We ate breakfast every morning looking out to the hills and one afternoon we sat out on the patio area enjoying the sun and the views. We visited the pub on site one evening and had a nice bite to eat and a drink without having to worry about driving. I am sure we will be back the first chance we get. Thank you. It is well located to explore the surrounding area and the site it is on is well equipped and in wonderful surroundings. The lodge itself has some lovely views. The leisure centre to which you have access is also a nice place if you want to go for a swim (have a small padlock for the lockers). What did you enjoy most about your stay? “The Lodge was much nicer than I expected and in a great spot with fantastic views of the hills from the balcony.”

The equipment inside was great apart from a couple of issues those being the oven door which would not close properly therefore making it impossible to cook anything properly and a drawer handle in the main bedroom which was broken - I am sure these could be easily fixed if the owners were made aware though. The bi folding doors seemed not to work either? These were only minor problems which had no impact on our stay. The Lodge was modern with good kitchen equipment. There is a dishwasher and washer/drier. We had nice weather for September which was good and we were able to make use of the playground on site with my two small grandchildren which they had all to themselves. It was really useful having two bathrooms including the en suite. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The fact that we were all together in a lodge which was ample in size for our needs and good weather of course. Lovely position on the site. Owners have paid great attention to detail. Couldn't fault anything in the lodge. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Peace and quiet in a real home from home. “Full marks to Sunnybank lodge.”

It is situated in serene atmosphere with excellent view overlooking green mountains surrounding the valley. We were welcomed with the basket of goodies - complementary chocolates, biscuits, short bread and flavored rose in it. The decoration of the lodge was very homely. I would say it had all that a family needs with fantastic modern facilities. The location is not far from windmere which is very popular tourist destination but at the same time it is far from the populated area of lake district which provides the perfect blend. It felt very homely. Lodge had all that you need to the great holiday with kids. There was also a file with all tourist destinations listed with summary information on each of them which we found extremely useful. We will surely some again here. “As an adult party of 3 couples we found the accommodation extremely spacious and comfortable containing everything you might need in a holiday property.”

On arrival the property was spotless and tidy with both a refreshment welcome and itinerary pack. Overall the facilities were modern, fitted and equipped to an extremely high standard throughout. “This lodge was perfect, really modern and had everything we needed.”

Couldnt have asked for more. The site was brilliant, kids poves playing footy on the field. Had a really good meal at the onsite pub, great food and not to expensive. We had fun playing darts and pool. Will defo be returning... What did you enjoy most about your stay? Welcome to Sunnybank, a beautiful three bedroom holiday lodge Sunnybank is a beautifully decorated, modern and spacious holiday lodge. The lodge is located in the Patterdale area at Limefitt Park and enjoys panoramic views from its elevated position. It is located close to the Haybarn Pub. Sunnybank is well proportioned and ideal for families or couples sleeping up to 6 guests plus an infant in a travel cot. The lodge is beautifully presented and maintained by the owners who take great pride in providing a high level of service. The spacious deck offers a welcome space from which to simply admire the stunning views across to Troutbeck Village, Wansfell and beyond. A truly wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Sorry we are unable to accepts dogs at Sunnybank Lodge. Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Sunnybank is accessed by 4 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot will fit in the twin bedroom. There is a booster seat provided for use at the dining table. A travel cot and highchair are provided in the lodge.

The nearest charging point can be found at Booths Supermarket in Windermere.

Park Rules and Operations – Limefitt:

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
