    Lodge was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed. It is in a lovely location and we would definitely return.

The property

Welcome to Woodpecker, a two bedroom holiday lodge with hot tub and ramp access Woodpecker is a modern lodge situated in the popular Pony Meadow area of White Cross Bay. The lodge benefits from being close to the lake which is just a short distance away. With two double bedrooms, the lodge is ideal for couples. Relaxing in the hot tub is the perfect way to end a busy day sightseeing or hiking. The lodge welcomes 2 dogs. Please note: Although there is ramp access to the lodge making it more suitable for those who require wheelchair access, the elderly or infirm, the lodge is not adapted for wheelchair use. Accommodation Details Living area: - Bright and spacious open plan living and dining area - Furniture includes a 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs plus coffee table - Feature electric fire - Wall unit with flat screen TV and DVD player - Dining table with 4 chairs Kitchen area: - The kitchen area is semi-divided by a breakfast bar with 2 stools - Fitted kitchen with a gas hob, built in double oven and microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster, ample cutlery and crockery plus plenty of generous storage space - Large American style fridge/freezer - Under counter wine cooler Master bedroom: - King size bed - Fitted wardrobes, bedside drawers, small dressing table with mirror and stool - En suite shower room includes a shower cubicle with thermostatic shower, toilet, hand basin and vanity unit Second bedroom: - Double bed - Wardrobe and cupboards Family shower room: - Walk in shower, vanity unit with hand basin, toilet and shaving point Other information: - Full central heating and double glazing ensuring a comfortable stay all year round

About the location

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Woodpecker is accessed by a ramp to the side of the lodge. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

The lodge is not fully adapted inside and may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

There is insufficient space to fit a travel cot in any of the bedrooms and would have to be placed in the living room area. Please bring your own travel cot and highchair as they are not provided.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, gym, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Subject to White Cross Bay Holiday Park rules:
Commercial vehicles, caravans or camper vans cannot be parked on the site.
Hen or stag parties are not permitted.
Dogs must not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
