On arrival we were surprised to find cleanliness, comfort and facilities of the lodge were far better than what we expected. Although our party consisted of 3 adults, this accommodation is ideal for families with young children. We stayed for only 4 nights but we would have stayed longer if the property was still available.Although the park is not overlooking a lake, its in an ideal location set in beautiful countryside where we went on lovely walks offering excellent views. Also ideal for visiting NT trust sites such as the Beatrix Potter's home and gallery and Wray Castle which has great facilities for children and very pleasant lakeside walks. Only slight negatiave with the property was that the decking could have done with a scrub-up and a lick of paint. And the pub on the sight didn't feel that welcoming; one evening we turned up at 5 past 8pm and were told that they had stopped serving at 8 but, they did offer us a very limited menu where we chose the beef burger option which tasted like one of those cheap value ones you buy in a frozen food shop. The attitude wasn't that friendly and we felt that this was a special favour to us. Otherwise the overall experience of our stay was excellent. Peter Stevens, Rickmansworth

Thank you for the review and kind comments, Peter. We were delighted to hear your stay at Fairfield Lodge exceeded your expectations. With a modern and cosy feel this lodge is the ideal holiday retreat and perfect for families or friends sharing. Limefitt is located in the stunning and very scenic Troutbeck valley, the views are just beautiful. Thank you for letting us know about the decking and we will check to make sure it is in good order. Throughout the season we do carry out maintenance although some things are only possible during the quieter winter months. Further to your feedback comments about the onsite facilities and customer service, we were sorry to hear they were not as expected, although as independent booking agents we have no control over how the Park is managed. Having said that we will pass on your comments to the Park management for their reference and we would like to think the poor service was a one off. Please accept our apologies. We were pleased to hear you went on to have as excellent stay. Fairfield Lodge is very well-equipped and comfortable accommodation, and delightful views. Where better to be for a relaxing break in the Lakes?

On the whole we found the Lodge acceptable. In our opinion the bed mattresses could do with replacing .The cleanliness was ok but again improvement could be addressed as there were spots of blood on the double bed valance(which was,I,m sure you will agree,a little off putting). If these observations were attended to we would certainly stay in Fairfield Lodge again. When we arrived there was no hot wate rand the boiler was on the blink but after informing the office on Limefitt, i twas soon made good. Thank you for you review, Barbara and letting us know of a couple of things following your stay at Fairfield Lodge. We were sorry to hear there was a cleaning issue. It is most unusual for this lodge although we have brought it to the attention of the cleaners and also asked them to liaise with the owners about the quality and condition of the linen provided. Had you contacted us at the time we would have had this changed for you. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Further to your comments about the mattresses, we apologise if they were not as expected. We do find comfort is a personal preference although we will check for any sign of damage and also pass on your comments to the lodge owners for their consideration. We were pleased to hear we resolved the maintenance issue for you, thank you for letting us know. Fairfield lodge is perfect for guests to relax and unwind, it offers very comfortable accommodation; Open plan living with a fully equipped kitchen complete with a dishwasher, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious outside terrace. A cosy and welcoming holiday retreat in a beautiful location – and indeed dog friendly.
