Great lodge and very clean! Best part was the hot tub! Location was good, we didn't have the weather when we went end of June but that can't be helped. Stephanie Kelly, Glasgow

The lodge was perfect, worth the money we paid and would come back to stay in the future. Only thing was the sofa needed a clean as it smelt of wet dog. Gemma Millman, Settle

Stayed: Friday 23 June 2017 to Monday 26 June 2017

Thank you for your comments, Gemma. It is such a pleasure to hear you had a perfect stay at Tall Trees, although we apologise that there was a dog smell on the sofa (dogs are not permitted on furniture). Even though the lodge is dog friendly there should not have been a distinct smell. We have spoken to the cleaners responsible for the lodge and they will address the issue. Please accept our apologies. Tall Trees is indeed great value for money and ideal as a base to explore the Lakes or as a holiday retreat for a relaxing break. Modern and cosy accommodation with a hot tub and a large terrace - Perfect! We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.

The accommodation is in a prime location and well sited. However, the main issue was with cleanliness. The dishwasher was stacked but not run, there were cigarette stubs in the kitchen bin (which left a smell throughout) and hot tub and the outside patio area appeared to have never been cleaned. We did a clean through and reported the faulty toilet seat and bathroom handle, so these by now should be fixed. Overall a pleasant stay. I would recommend if cleaned through properly before arrival. Stayed: Monday 8 May 2017 to Friday 12 May 2017

We appreciate your review, Alison and apologise that a few things weren't quite right for you during your stay. The cleaning should have been to a high standard and we were sorry to hear that on this occasion it seems this was not the case. It is unusual for this lodge and your comments have been passed on to the contract cleaners for their information, although we do politely ask guests to leave crockery used throughout their stay clean and ready for the next guest. Had you contacted us at the time the housekeepers would have returned to put things right, although we realise that should not have been necessary. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Occasionally we aren't aware of the odd maintenance issue arising between guest stays and once you informed us we were pleased to address them. Thank you for letting us know. Very kind of you to let us know that you went on to have a pleasant stay, thank you. Tall Trees is a modern and spacious lodge that is superbly equipped for a relaxing and comfortable stay – and in a prime location just 600 yards to the lake and marina. We would be delighted should you choose to return in the near future and are confident you will have a very enjoyable stay.

We had a fabulous stay at the lodge. The location of the site was perfect for us, close enough to drive out and go exploring but far enough away from the busy streets of Windermere to fully relax. Our plans involved a lot of walking, which we planned in advance. Brant Fell is well worth a walk up for lovely views of lake Windermere. The hot tub was great to relax in on an evening, the only downside is it isn't sunken as detailed in the description of the lodge. However the park was quiet enough we didn't get disturbed when in the hot tub from people walking past. Claire Clark, Sunderland

Stayed: Monday 24 April 2017 to Friday 28 April 2017

Thank you for your review and great ratings, Claire. We were so pleased to hear you had a fabulous stay at Tall Trees. In such a super location to explore the Lakes with many delightful walks and magnificent views to enjoy, all within easy reach of the Park. The hot tub featured on the website has been replaced with a brand new and improved tub – We will update the website accordingly and our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Having said that very kind of you to comment you enjoyed a relaxing evening in the tub! Tall Trees is modern and spacious and offers guests delightful self catering accommodation for a holiday in the Lakes – the perfect retreat for families or couples.

About White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay is located between Windermere & Ambleside on the shores of Lake Windermere. It is one of the most popular holiday parks in the very heart of the Lake District and the great location makes it a convenient base for a self catering stay in the area.

The focal point is the lake front and marina with stunning views across to the surrounding fells and countryside. The park offers plenty to do with a large clubhouse which includes the bar, restaurant and leisure facilities (a £15 local charge applies to use the pool and gym).
