High Borrans is a select development of 5 one bedroom luxury lodges set in a secluded rural location alongside a working farm and yet just 3 miles from the centre of Windermere. It is close to all the main Central Lakes attractions and perfectly situated for walks right from your front door. Just for adults the lodges provide the perfect place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.
From the moment you leave the main road and head towards High Borrans you will sense the peace and tranquility of the area. Driving down the country lane you arrive at the traditional working farmyard and on through to the 5 lodges.
A traditional working Lakeland hill farm
High Borrans Farm is a 1000 acre hill farm, with a flock of some 1200 Swaledale ewes and around 25 beef suckler cows. The land rises to 1300 feet on heather-clad fell tops and the farm is a wonderful environment for nature lovers.
The farmland is an Environmentally Sensitive Area and parts are also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. On the nearby fells you are likley to glimpse red and roe deer, and closer to the farm, there are tawny and barn owls, and many varieties of bats living in the old barns.
For adventure lovers a number of popular mountain bike routes run through the farm yard itself.
