Lovely cabin

The cabin was excellent, very clean and well equipped . Liked the boot room and walk in wardrobe . Fallbarrow park is in an excellent position, in bowness town centre.

A short weekend reunion for 8 mature former servicemen. To say we were impressed with our stay in an understatement. From the online booking procedure, the lodge, the amenities, the staff, the location, everything was top notch. Thank you Mark Holdcroft and everyone at Lake District Lodge Holidays for making our stay a memorable one.

What's Not To Like?

Undoubtedly what sets this lodge location apart from other sites in Cumbria is the proximity to a town like Bowness which is just a 5 minute stroll away. But the lodge itself does not disappoint either. The large open plan kitchen, diner and lounge is of a good size and easily accommodated the 4 of us in comfort. It is apparent that quite a bit of money has been spent on furniture and fittings in the not too distant past, and although it would be possible to nit pick over minor blemishes, there is nothing to detract from a great base to stay. The en suite master bedroom was spacious with lots of hanging space, although the lowness of the bed drew an unfavourable comment from our friends in that room. We had the 2 x single bed room which had plenty of cupboards, although hanging space is limited to one wardrobe. Space is a bit limited to move around in here - but as my wife and I are both on the small side, we managed to avoid colliding most of the time - so for us it was no problem. The separate bathroom was large, although we did not get a chance to try the jacuzzi style bath! The handles on the sink cabinet need changing, but apart from that, as elsewhere throughout the lodge, it was very good. Outside there is a good sized veranda, although given the time of year we did not use the table and chairs upon it. In summary, a great location and a very good lodge make this an ideal place for a break way in the Lakes.

Autumn stay

Excellent location easy walk into Bowness , lovely lodge , very clean and relaxing, only thing we found the king size bed mattress dipped on one side, so uncomfortable to sleep on , also a clothes airier would be very useful as not all clothes are tumble dry able, and after a week of rain we had nowhere to hang our wet things to dry . Lodge in a Quiet part of Fellbarrow park , Enjoyed our stay will visit again . Also our dog loved it .

Thank you for your review Trevor and for making us aware of a couple of things. We are sorry you found the mattress uncomfortable, although we find comfort to be a personal preference, we will certainly pass your comments to the lodge owners and suggest they look at the mattress. We will also make them aware of your suggestion, thank you and please accept our apologise for any inconvenience caused. On a better note, we are delighted to hear you found Beech Hill a lovely two-bedroom lodge! It is indeed in a quiet area of the park, provides glimpses of the lake and is very much a home away from home! We are so pleased to hear you would like to return, it would be our pleasure to welcome you back!

Great weekend at Beech Hill lodge

Check in quick and easy, maybe not so easy to find the lodge even though we were provided with a map of the park. Excellent location for the lake and very close to cafes, supermarket, pubs and takeaways. Plenty of lovely places to walk the dog and friendly locals. Lodge was clean and in a quiet location, no view of the lake because of thick trees but not a problem. Had everything needed kitchen wise and was very happy with the dishwasher, tablets were provided. Only gripe was after spending 4.5 hours driving, should only have been 3 and a quarter but due to road closures and motorway roadworks, I really could have just sat down with a cup of tea but no teabags or milk or even hand wash. Had to go back out to buy a small shop before getting my cuppa!! Apart from this it wouldn’t ever stop me booking this lodge again or using this website. Had a fab weekend and will defo be going back soon!!

Thank you for your review Tracy, we are delighted to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. As our lodges are self-catering, it is not standard to provide tea bags and milks for guests on arrival. However, saying this, we will certainly take it on board and pass your comments to the owners for their consideration. Beech Hill is a beautifully presented two-bedroom lodge, perfect for relaxing in and also using as base if you are exploring the local area. Minutes away from Bowness-on-Windermere, it is the perfect location! We are so pleased to hear you are looking to return, it would be our pleasure to welcome you back.

September Break

This lodge is in a quiet location with a terraced area that gets the sun for most of the afternoon. The lodge is immaculate, comfortable and equipped with everything you need, even down to dog bowls, iron and hairdryer. Can’t wait to go back. It’s a credit to its owner. Beautiful lodge.

We are so delighted to hear you had another wonderful stay Jean, thank you for your very kind review. Beech Hill is indeed a home away from home and a very popular two-bedroom lodge with many of our guests returning year on year! Beautifully presented throughout and just a short walk into the centre of Bowness where you can explore the local area and enjoy the lake, it truly is a wonderful place to stay!
