Three of us and a small dog stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. The lodge is well equipped, clean, spacious and the beds are comfy. Location on Windermere is great and convenient for most places. Will certainly consider staying again next time we visit the lakes but we may stay another area of the lakes for variety.

Had a quick 2-night stay with my wife, daughter & little dog, along with our friends & their young daughter. The lodge was lovely & clean on arrival. If I was being super-critical I'd perhaps say the outside area is in need of 'sprucing up' a little - the decking areas of other lodges we walked past were much prettier - but it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. The clubhouse was lovely, & they'd done a great job of making everything 'Corvid-friendly'. Pool wasn't open due to Coronavirus, but we knew about that. It's a lovely 5-minute stroll down to the lakeside, where the 2 young girls enjoyed looking at the boats & feeding the ducks! We had a walk into Bowness on the Saturday, which is 3 miles & took us about an hour. Be aware if you've got little ones that you have to walk on the busy road (there's no footpath along the lakeside unfortunately). FYI a taxi back from Bowness after a couple of drinks was very easy to get, & cost exactly £10 for the 6 of us & a dog, which we thought was great. We didn't have chance to do it, but it looks about the same distance in the opposite direction to walk up to Ambleside, which we'll do next time we visit. Overall we'd recommend this lodge 100%, in fact we're looking to book again very shortly! The Smiths & Townsends, Burnley.

Our lodge was gorgeous but we found the heating a bit inadequate. It was very cold at times and we had to wear shawls at times. A lovely maintenance man did come and explain how it works but it did not help the situation. The local restaurant and bar was lovely but didn't like the barking dogs allowed in. Unfortunately I left a heat pad on the bed and a pair of glasses but have not heard if they were found. The lodge windows need cleaning. We would highly recommend this lodge. Thank you.
