Just what the doctor ordered
From the moment we pulled onto Limefitt Park we were treated fantastically. Pulling up to the lodge I was like an excited child! As we entered it was lovely and warm and bright. The first thing we saw was a bottle of Prosecco and box of fudge on the table. I briefly mentioned when we booked that it was our anniversary so for them to remember was a beautifully thoughtful touch. Larchmere Lodge was clean and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. Sitting out on the verandah at the end of September was an added bonus as we could enjoy the view of the changing colours on the trees.
Would we stay there again? Most definitely. Thank you so much

1 mark down for cleanliness because of the greasy marks on the bathroom radiator, otherwise the lodge is really clean. The open plan living room and dining room is convenient. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedrooms are of good sizes. We would consider staying again at this lodge when we go back to Lake District.

On arrival the site has a very helpful reception with a small shop. We arrived on a cool day and the lodge had lamps and heating on waiting for us which was lovely. The lodge itself appears to have had a new kitchen with everything you need. We felt at home straight away. It had kids games, toiletries and kitchen essentials. We used the free pass to the local leisure centre and the pool was fab. Our daughter loved it. I would definately recommend the lodge and lake district lodge holidays.

Lodge was really good but the pub on site had to wait over one and a half hours for our food with still no sign of it arriving so we walked away with empty stomach, and had to stay cooking gone 10 o'clock at night.

Nice clean lodge, lovely location and good facilities - shame about the wifi
The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed.
The kids were happy with the PS2 in their room and the zip wire in the site playground which had amazing views of the surrounding hills and valleys and stood next to a river which was shallow enough to paddle in. They were also very excited about the ponies trekking through the site several times a day and were able to see the horses grazing in the field next to the site.
The on-site pub was large and did good food and we went to the nearby (ten nimute drive) indoor swimming pool (included in the price) several times during our stay, which also had a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The site was a short drive from both Ambleside and Windermere with decent shops and restaurants and a cinema.
The only downside to the lodge was the lack of Internet access. I couldn't get any 4g access on my phone which i expected, but wifi access was not good, especially in the evenings when we were trying to research where best to go the following day. There were various open access connections but they never seemed to last and we had to keep finding others that were free which was frustrating and time consuming. It would have been better to have just one password protected wifi access for the lodge that was either off or on to save the faffing around. That, however, was our only quibble with a holiday home that in every other way was great.

The location is too far out. Need a car if you want to eat out or go for drink. The pub on the site although very nice and the staff very friendly it was very quiet and quite boring. They do a good breakfast though. The inside of the cabin was quite nice but the exterior needs some maintenance

About Limefitt Park
Limefitt is one of the Lake District’s most stunningly situated holiday parks. Set in the beautiful Troutbeck Valley, it is some three miles north of Windermere on the Ullswater road in the direction of Kirkstone Pass. This superb location has beautiful views and direct access to the fells.
