Two night break

Great communication on booking. Spotless on arrival and very well appointed. Location of the site was perfect although the lodge felt a little overlooked for us. Highly recommended, would like to return in summer.

Tiggywinkle Beck Review

I'll begin by saying that our short break was fantastic. We had a great time. So clean, very homely. Our 6 year old boy was crying when we left because he wanted to stay so much. Everything was great apart from one or two things. Firstly the double mattress was soft and we both prefer a firmer mattress so by the end of the 4th night I was waking with a slightly stiff back. Secondly, my partner and I both got bitten and felt a little itchy around the lodge. We didn't have the windows open. The children were unaffected. I don't know if the itchiness was due to the time of year and being by a lake out in the country or what, but we definitely felt itchy. That said, we loved the lodge and will return as the children were so happy there. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Thank you for your review, Marvyn. We note your comments and although it is very pleasing to hear you had a fantastic time we are sorry that there were a couple of things not quite right you. We are rather baffled as to the cause of the itching although as the children were not affected, it may simply be the washing detergent. We will look in to this further and also monitor any future comments. With regard to the comfort of the double bed, your comments are noted and have been passed on to the lodge owners for their consideration. We do find that comfort is personal preference and although we will keep an eye on any further comments we can only apologise it was not to your satisfaction. We were pleased to hear that you went on to have a great stay and delighted you loved the lodge. Tiggywinkle Beck is modern, cosy and fully equipped for a very comfortable stay. Ideal for families to simply relax, unwind and explore the lake district – Ullswater is stunning! We look forward to you returning in the near future.

Would absolutely, totally and utterly recommend Tiggywinkle Beck Lodge!!!!

Beautiful, very clean, warm and cosy lodge. My partner and 10 year old son stayed here in October half-term. The lodge was immaculate and we could keep it warm for as long as needed (weather a bit cold and drizzly). It had everything you needed, from tea, coffee, sugar, toilet rolls, clean towels, washing up liquid, cloths, dvd's and some family games. It is a good 45 mins walk into Bowness - which is fine in the daylight - taxi back was £6.50, as there are no street lights to see where you are walking. The complex the lodge is on was excellent. Great food and drinks and not over priced. We took a trip to Windermere last October to Fallbarrow - this was much closer to Bowness. I would recommend either, just to stay in the Lakes as it is beautiful. Yet we really couldn't fault Tiggywinkle - except we are used to a king-size bed - that is the only teeny critizism!!!!
