Very warm and cosy lodge, like home from home. Within easy driving distance to most places, we really enjoyed ourselves.

08th September 2020

Like most people in 2020, we had a staycation for our summer holiday. We had never been to the lake district before so thought 2020 would be the perfect excuse to explore. We found Lake district Lodge holidays online and were pleased they did lodges that took dogs as we wanted to bring out 9 year old husky. We stayed in Grange over sands which is slightly out of the Lake District but it was perfect. We were far enough away from the thick of it but close enough to drive to the town for supplies. The grounds itself are lovely and peaceful and beautifully maintained. The lodge was exactly as we had hoped. It had everything we needed, felt spacious and was really clean and tidy. Everything in the lake district we wanted to do was only a short drive away. We went to Coniston lake, Lake Windermere, lake Grasmere, we went Kayaking and also did the steam boat trip. Plus lots of hiking. The weather was mixed but as the lodge had a washing machine and tumble drier, we were able to keep on top of wet or damp clothes. We sampled the desserts from the hotel and they were yummy. My boyfriend also forgot some things in the bedside drawer and called the hotel. They were most helpful and called him back when the items had been located and arranged to have them post back. We all had a fabulous time, 2 over 40's, a 15 year old girl and a 9 year old dog ;0) I would definitely recommend and we would go back.
