Gorgeous lodge, the surfaces seemed clean but not under the bed, sink in the main bathroom and the seating area. Would love to go back when it's summer time.

On arrival to Whitecross bay the reception staff (older lady) was very rude and abrupt, not helpful at all. We arrived at our lodge situated I. A corner of the site out of the way, perfect location especially if you take dogs as it is by the dog walk in the forest! The lodge was beautifully decorated with a comfy sofa, cushions and bean bag, all cooking facilities, utensils and pans to hand. The hot tub was an added bonus, cleaned as we arrived and prior to leaving. The downsides to the lodge I found was the bedroom carpet was dirty and clearly had been urinated on by previous animals. There was a dog smell on the rug in the living room and bedroom carpets. I personally would have wooden floors throughout if having dogs stay! Overall though the lodge was lovely and a perfect location to explore the Lake District. We went on the bar a few times for the kids entertainment which was good and the local choices health centre that you get for free is amazing the pool was so lovely. The pool at the complex was cold and not that nice and a cost of £15 per stay. I would recommend driving down the road 5 mins to the free health centre, also available spa facilities, which I didnt use but looked beautiful, so much nicer! I would definitely return.
