Hawkshead Brewery have been brewing innovative, modern beers since 2002. Most of it is Real Ales, which are cask conditioned beers. They do also make lager and other keg beers. The brewery is one of the many micro-breweries in Cumbria, and they hunt for hops all over the world, visiting farmers from the UK, Slovenia, USA and New Zealand. If you love beer, live music, great food in an interesting location at Staveley Millyard – get yourself down there!
Hints & Tips – Go on a tour and see how its made! Scheduled tours run 4 times a week at 2pm (Weds, Fri, Sat and Sun) The 45 min tour includes a short film and is £8 per person also includes either a pint or 2 half’s at the end of the tour. To book either call 01539 825260 or email.
Why we love it: As well as the beers, Hawkshead Brewery offers great food, and its own take on ‘Cumbrian Tapas’. They also have regular events and live music. You can also arrive by train so you can enjoy a tipple or two- Staveley is well connected to Windermere and Kendal stations.
