Keswick Market

During your stay, why not visit Keswick Market. Set in the heart of the picturesque town centre, the market is open every Thursday (mid Feb-Dec) and Saturday (year round). On offer is a wide selection of delicious local produce from breads, cheese, honey and pies. There is also an interesting array of gifts and crafts such as rugs, handbags, jewellery and knick-knacks. The market is popular with both locals and visitors alike providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which shoppers can wander at leisure.

You can also join in the fun and take part in ‘Pirate Day’, or if that doesn’t float your ‘ship’…there is also ‘Superhero Day’. They are in aid of charity and usually include a prize for the best dressed. Keep up to date with their Facebook page.
Did you know? Keswick was granted its market charter in 1276 by Edward I. It has also won an award… ‘2015 Best Outdoor Market in the UK’. So it’s certainly worth a visit during your stay!
Hints/tips: Visit Mr Vikki’s stall, a multi award winning Indian Chilli Pickle, Chutney and Sauce producer. Try one of their delicious inspired curries, there’s a great selection for all taste buds. Take some delights home with you from their ever popular Chilli Jam or the award winning Hot Banana Habenero. Always made with passion!

Why we like it: If you’re staying at nearby Keswick Bridge or Burnside Park, the market is just a short walk away. However, you may need a taxi back if you have lots of shopping bags! If staying at either White Cross Bay, Limefitt, Fallbarrow or High Borrans, Keswick is a beautiful car or bus ride through sweeping valleys and picturesque lakes and fells. A visit to Keswick Market is well worth it!
