Things to do for Halloween in the Lake District


The Brockhole Halloween Experience

Brockhole Visitor Centre – 26th October – 3rd November 2024

A short distance from White Cross Bay Holiday Park, on the outskirts of Windermere, The Brockhole Visitor Centre hosts a spooktacular annual Halloween Experience. This fangtastic family friendly event takes place between the 26th October to the 3rd November and is open between 9am-5pm daily. Be warned book early to avoid disappointment!

Little ones are welcome with adult supervision, however, some of these Halloween activities may be too hair-raising for children!


Walby Farm Pumpkin Picking

Halloween isn’t Halloween without a pumpkin so head to Walby Farm Pumpkin Picking for some great family-friendly Halloween fun in the Lake District.

Wrap up warm, grab your wellies and go out on the great pumpkin hunt. When you’ve picked your favourite, there’s help on hand to assist with carving!

New for 2024: Ghoul School! This Halloween, join Fenella Flabberghast and her scaredy-cat sidekick, for an interactive adventure at our brand-new Ghoul School! Your little monsters will learn to be brave as they take on the roles of goblins, werewolves, and more – all while learning how to dance like the spookiest creatures of the night! (October half term only 26 Oct- 1 Nov)

There’s a whole host of fangtastic activities, from thrilling zip lines to getting up close and personal with our farm animals. When the little monsters need a recharge head to The Cowshed Café for delicious homemade pumpkin soup and spooky treats.

There’s plenty for little ones to see and do, including an indoor and outdoor adventure play area too!

Online booking is essential and admission includes a pumpkin for every paying child. 


Keswick Ghost Walks

Be emersed in haunting tales this Halloween. Are you ready to take a haunted walk and hear stories of Keswick past history full of murder, intrigue and tortured souls. From slate-built houses to the surrounding lakes and fells this is an area steeped in legend and mystery. Follow “The Lady”… if you dare.

 


 

Things to do on Bonfire Night in the Lake District


Windermere RUFC Firework Extravaganza

Saturday 02th November 2024 – Gates open 5:30pm

If you’re looking for something to do on Bonfire Night in the Lake District then be sure to add this Firework Extravaganza to your list!

Taking place on the 02nd November, the event will see a magical firework display, along with live music, fire eaters, street food, real ale, mulled wine and more.

This is a ticketed event, with doors opening at 5:30pm and Fireworks at 7.00pm.


Holker Hall Winter Market

Friday 01st November 2024 – 12pm – 7pm
Saturday 02nd November 2024 – 10am – 5pm
Sunday 03rd November 2024 – 10am – 4.30pm

Kicking off the festive season early, the Holker Hall Winter Market is a unique way to spend Bonfire Night in the Lake District.

A three day event, the Winter Market plays host to an enchanting variety of stalls, where you’ll find artisan gifts, crafts and textiles, along with a mouth-watering collection of food and drink.

There’s also live entertainment held throughout the day, sure to keep the little ones entertained. Why not stop by and enjoy a spot of live music performed by local bands and singers?

 


Hayes Garden World Fireworks Night and Late Night Shopping

Friday 1st November 2024 – 6pm to 9pm

Bonfire Night in the Lake District sees Hayes Garden World host a fireworks and late night shopping evening.

Along with an explosive evening of fireworks, there will be hearty food on offer, including lamb hot pot and chilli bratwurst.

The World of Christmas will open it’s doors, boasting themed Christmas displays using baubles, lights and garlands all available to purchase on-site. Guests will even be rewarded with an additional 10% off Christmas items purchased on the night!

Ullswater Steamers
