Rivendell, Burnside Park

Comfortable and cosy.

Beds had down duvets. Towels and tea towels were provided. Had everything you could possibly need, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, clothes maiden, a great variety of cookware, crockery and glasses. Lovely location, a little stream running outside. A bottle of Prosecco and some chocolate left for us was a nice touch. Love the keypad for locking/unlocking front door - much better than a key. We will go back again, probably next summer.

You will be very pleased with your Holiday Lodge if you pick Rivendell.

It has everything you need and is lovely and cosy. The lodge is spotless and I have stayed here several times before. The lodge is only a short walk from the very popular Pheasant Inn which serves great food. A walk into Keswick town is only a 15 minute away. For hiking there is plenty of choices all around.

Lovely lodge in a peaceful well maintained site.

Plenty of space, kitchen well equipped, comfortable sofas, lovely outdoor space. We slept well, bed was comfortable as were the pillows. We will definitely be back. I’m We had a slight housekeeping issue that was resolved quickly.

Incredible property with all the little things thought of too - we’ve had the best time - thanks for the welcome gift too - Prosecco and chocolate it was appreciated.

Very quiet. Comfortable throughout the property and a well equiped kitchen. Lovely views from the living room and veranda.

Everything was first class you could want for nothing the only thing they didn’t have was a potato peeler lol excellent accommodation

Once again had a great week.

Only issue the pillows were hard and lumpy which made sleeping disturbed. Apart from that its a great cabin. Will be back soon.

We had a fantastic stay at Rivendell, it's a beautiful lodge and we found it to be very well equipped and well presented.

The kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfy and the shower works well! We particularly appreciated the travel cot, which can double as a play pen, that we were able to quickly move between the bedroom and living room as we needed it. With four adults, a baby and a big dog we had just enough space in the lodge to be comfortable and it served as a great base for us to explore Keswick (10-15 mins walk to centre) and the surrounding areas. There are also wonderful views of the hills from the living room and external decking areas. We would definitely book again!

A most excellent stay.

The lodge is in a great environment with splendid views of the fells and easy access both to Keswick and walking trails. The lodge was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. In all I had no problems with it at all and would certainly book it again

Very nice lodge in a lovely area.

Super clean with great facilities (dishwasher, washing machine). Very cosy and nicely equipped. However, the beds were extremely hard - no give at all! I prefer a firm bed, but this was on another level. There was also lots of site maintenance going on (landscaping etc) which was very noisy and completely ruined the peace and quiet. This happened from 9am-1pm ish most days! Tried to get through to the owner on the phone to report this but the phone signal wasn't strong enough. The code system on the door was also quite temperamental.

The cottage was perfect for us.

There was everything available that you need in a home. It was tidy, sofas and beds were very comfortable. The only issue was that internet connection was very temperamental and kept interrupting streaming service.

The property was in a lovely location.

The cleanliness was not the best the windows needed a good clean . The Internet was not very good it was constantly going on and off . The speed was not good enough to stream movies. Also becareful of the corners on the bed frame we were constantly banging our legs .

On a person note I found the look of dark wood everywhere rather over powering - the mattress could do with replacement as did not provide proper support as I have a bad back and I could not use the lounge seat as they were far too soft - I actually left on the Wednesday morning as I did not enjoy my stay in the accommodation due to above Sorry

Once again a week here is relaxing.

Third time in the past 8 months. Perfect for me and my dog. Managed to sit out on the porch for the first time (usually here in winter). This place has everything you need. Will be back soon.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely clean and comfortable property.

Kitchen is small but very well equipped - had everything we needed. Enjoyed the views from the veranda even on miserable week weather-wise. Location handy for walking in to Keswick. Will be looking to book here again.

The Lodge had everything we needed, the view was amazing.

The tv signal dipped in and out quite a lot but I guess this is due to the location and perhaps the weather sometimes. Other than that, we loved every minute of our stay.

The property was the best of both worlds, cabin in a lovely, well maintained, small, quiet site yet within very easy walking distance of Keswick Town centre. We didnt want to leave, it was the exact break we needed. We will definitely be back. Very well equipped with everything we needed even champagne flutes. Confess we didn't cook as the property was so ideally located close to the amazing eateries of Keswick and we were on our holidays.

Windows inside not cleaned.

Stairs to cottage very steep. Caught back of leg every time going down on gripper. Couldn't get tv to tune in . Kept losing the stations we manged to get. Shower pressure could have been better. Played around with setting to no avail. Apart from above everything else was perfect.

The property and site was lovely.

The only thing we weren’t happy with was the mattress, it was rock hard so we didn’t sleep well

We stayed at Rivendell to celebrate my 60th Birthday and it was perfect.

The lodge is so cosy, a real home from home with everything you could wish for a self catering holiday and the view straight over to Latrigg was amazing. Lovely quiet site and a short distance to walk into Keswick, approximately 15 minutes for me and my dog Millie to reach town. We loved it so much I've booked a week for May, looking forward to coming back

Great property.

The second time I've stayed in the last 7 weeks. Very comfortable bed and couches. This time I noticed when the sun was shining in there were some areas which obviously hadnt been dusted for a while. Would have preferred simple on /off bedside lamps rather than ones you have to keep tapping and holding to get a constant white light. Apart from that a great stay once again.

This cabin has everything you need during your stay.

It is very cosy and warm with a very comfortable bed. Great view from the sitting area of Latrigg fell. Will definitely be coming back.

Lovely chalet to stay in.

Warm and comfortable in the autumn. Chalet had everything we needed. Thought the Locksafe was much better than keys. Only slight quibble was the blue LED light of the radiator was too bright for the bedroom. Look forward to staying again.

We had such a great holiday and this was a fab base to explore from with our dog.

The lodge was clean, well looked after and had everything we could ever want and need. The locksafe system was great and as we visited during a heatwave the locking 'window cages' were appreciated and used daily. Only slight criticism was the bed - this was quite uncomfortable and only a double, a king size would have been perfect. Thank you for a great stay!

Lovely lodge in quiet park.

Excellently located to enjoy Keswick to the full.

Great location and lovely views from the Lodge.

Accommodation was in good order and we liked the Locksafe system. The only minor disappointment was that there was no external table on the decking - just 4 plastic chairs which meant we couldn't enjoy the outside area as much as we would have wanted.

We are a family of 3 adults and a dog.

The property is exactly as described, home from home. Nice location within walking distance to Keswick. Excellent choice for exploring the lakes. Would recommend this property.

Very comfortable and well maintained lodge Large Outside porch with lovely views over the hills Sunny aspect from morning till mid afternoon Easy 20 minutes walk into Keswick (although you do have to cross a busy road and negotiate a roundabout) Recommend the Pheasant Inn (10 mins) for food and service Note that the directions to the lodge say it is second on the left when turning left It is actually third on the left but easy to find

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Only small thing to mention is that the deck on the balcony was a bit of a state, had to brush it myself (maybe mention it to the cleaning company?). But other than that it was great.

Stayed at Rivendell for the 5th time.

Always clean, tidy and all the facilities you need inside. Lovely location. Easy check in. Another great stay and can’t wait till the next time. Thanks again!

We enjoyed our stay very much.

Sadly the freezer part of the fridge had not been defrosted, for weeks I would say, as that was my first task as we had a small amount of frozen products and needed to use it. The owners emailed to say it was faulty, once I had cleaned it, no problem. A heavier tog duvet would have been nice as it was a bit chilly, and as we found the instructions for the heaters very confusing, but then we are both well into our 80's so no surprise there !! Overall a lovely week and would recommend and would love to return. Would have been very smiley faces but for the above mentioned hiccups.

The lodge was strategically located.

Just 15 minutes walk to the Town Centre. Close to so many attraction points. The rooms were so cosy, with the balcony overseeing the Latrigg.

Lodge in need of some update, new shower definitely.

Outside areas, patio & windows, need cleaning

Our stay at the lodge for 6 nights was really enjoyable.

The lodge had everything you would need to make your break comfortable. The location was ideal, short walk to the local pub (Pheasant) which had great food and also close to shops for supplies. The mountains Latrigg and Skiddaw could be viewed from the lodge which was lovely to view with a glass of wine after a days walking. Would highly recommend a stay at Rivendell Lodge, just wish now we'd have booked for longer.

Would suggest a bit more local info in the visitors pack for 1st timer to Keswick & the Lakes & info on the best way to walk into Keswick from the lodge.

Absolutely loved our stay, the lodge was perfect for us.

It had everything we could need and more. Loved the location as it was so quiet and peaceful with amazing views but just a short walk into Keswick. I think we may be back. Perfect for Harvey my dog as he could sit on the deck quite safely too.

Rivendell was clean, comfortable and well equipped, the owners have really thought through the needs of guests and provided everything needed.

other Lodge on that site which was great wouldn't stay in riverdall number 14 again had no sleep any I e the bed are that hard even me granson. Said bed to hard also the fire u cart put it on your self it come on then after 10 mint turns it self on the heating you couldn't high up your selfthey came.off and on. Could never get warm the lock on.door were put code in is terrible take ages to open.the rest wast bad Brenda Rourke

well equipped lodge everthing you need !

Overall an excellent stay.

Some absolutely fantastic views from the veranda. Makes you feel you are in the heart of the Lakes. Cleanliness was very good generally. The only thing that let it down was some food residues left on cooking utensils, cutlery, etc. This meant we felt we needed to run everything through the dishwasher before using, just to be safe. But other than that, the cleanliness was superb. Maybe if the cleaner had been paid for just 15 minutes more, they'd have had the time to sort out this one issue? The cabin had excellent facilities and was nice and warm, even during the cold and blustery storms we had. 15-minute walk into central Keswick, so fairly well situated. Note that facilities on the site were a little lacking. No recycling at all, which is pretty much unacceptable, these days in our opinion. so we ended up bringing all of our plastic, tins, and glass back home with us, as it didn't feel right to just bin it. Also, be aware that no shop or other facilities on site. If you are after a property that is comfortable, warm, well equipped, with great views, you will not be disappointed.

Lovely property.

Plastic chairs outside could do with cushions as cold and uncomfortable. The knives in the kitchen were pretty blunt. Other than that, couldn’t fault it! Clean, easy access, plenty of information in the folder for those who don’t know the area too well. Perfect! Will choose you again next time

We had a fab stay at Rivendell Lodge.

It certainly was home from home. Very cosy on cold days with the most amazing views to Lattrigg and Skiddaw. We were sad to leave, but will definately return for another visit. Just a short walk into Keswick, and with The Pheasant pub just down the road, we had a delicious meal there. The only negative point I would make is having to vacate the property at 9:30 am. The property listing actually states 10:am. On that note we decided to pack up and leave the previous afternoon, as didn't want to rush on the morning of departure. But thankyou to the owners, this is a lovely, well equipped property, and our dog had a great time too.

Would go at a different time if the year when it is less crowded and less expensive.

Such a lovely place to stay, relaxing, comfortable, quite, surrounded with nature and amazing view.

We really enjoyed our holiday. Very near to Keswick Town approximately 15-20 mins walk, it’s near bus station as well. A home away from home. One of the best place stay!

Well equipped cottage.

Very good washing machine/dryer and dishwasher and excellent range of dishes, glasses etc. Loved the view from the raised decking area. Main issue was the fairly thin mattress in the main bedroom. As a result, my husband could feel the join in the base through the mattress. We did manage to overcome the problem by using some extra cushioning between the mattress and base but something to be aware of. There was also a bit of dust on the towel rail and on some of the glasses. I did have to wipe down the front of the fridge on arrival, as this had been missed. Overall, a very enjoyable holiday.

Another lovely stay at Burnside park and Rivendell was as described The lodge was comfortable and felt like home from home, only downside was we really struggled with the digital door lock and it took us several attempts each time to get in even though we followed instructions to the letter Defunately would recommend the park to anyone especially dog
