8 Woodlands

We loved staying at 8 Woodlands.

It was our first time staying there and we would definitely go back. We’ve both said it was the best place we’ve stayed in the Lake District. Firstly, the sofa was really comfortable. This is quite unusual in holiday lets I find. Also, the shower was great - powerful and lots of room. The double bed mattress was just right; neither of us could tell when the other moved and we both found it very comfortable. It’s so peaceful there as well; we lived sitting on the veranda, listening to the birds singing and looking at the trees and the sky. We originally booked to stay there so that I could swim in Lake Coniston . It’s a perfect location for this. I highly recommend anyone staying at 8, Woodlands - and I don’t normally write such effusive reviews.

The location is easy to find very clean and has all required amenities. Very quiet and peacefull stay

Everything we needed … so quiet and peaceful which is what we like … great walks we did plenty of ….would recommend…

Lovely comfortable lodge in an idyllic setting.

Well equipped, comfy double bed with lots of storage space in the large wardrobe, easy to use shower with towels provided. Nice to relax in the evening on the recliner sofa and watch TV. Short walk across the road through the farmers field to see the stunning views of Lake coniston. Lots of places to visit, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look forward to staying here again in the near future.

Stunning location with short or long walks which are near to the lodge.

Coniston Lake can be accessed within a short straight forward 10 minute walk. Lovely little lodge with all amenities, they had thought of everything you would need for a short stay. Enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Something wrong with Mattress on main bedroom bed creeks and dips near head.

Front right gas burner doesn’t work on hob otherwise lovely lodge had a great holiday loved the little hut with home made jams etc

Fantastic place for family holiday.

Clean, comfy and quiet. Make sure you bring your shopping as advised, the local shop is quite expensive. The lodge have everything you need. Really recommend .

It was a lovely stay, we stayed for three nights and spent the days at the lake just across the road which was lovely.

Very dog friendly and the pub that was a few miles along the road was wonderful, there is also a little family hut you can buy things from, we still have the jam we purchased, will definitely come back

Overall the lodge was lovely and the area is wonderful.

But if you want to walk anywhere you will need to go in your car to get there as you have to walk along the road quite scary especially if you have a crazy Spaniel. Although you can cross the road and walk to the lake which was nice.

Beautiful setting, lovely accommodation , really peaceful and the local pubs and food amazing, would definitely come back

We had a pleasant stay.

The property was ideal for two adults. Well equipped and comfortable. A great location.

We had a lovely relaxing week in our chalet.

Welcome biscuits and dog treats were appreciated. Site was well maintained and very quiet with lakeside walk nearby. Good storage space in bedroom and very comfortable bed. Chalet had everything we needed for our stay. We hope to return.

We stayed at 8 Woodlands.

There was space for one car towards the front of the lodge due to leaving space for the lodge to the back of 8 Woodlands. Enough space though so all was ok. The lodge had everything in terms of cutlery, plates, pans, trays and bin bags. Was a very nice touch to have some coffee, tea and milk sachets on arrival along with washing up liquid, tea towel and toilet roll. Plenty of towels were provided for our weeks stay. We were impressed with the lodge itself and the grounds. Close to the lake for a morning stroll with the dog which was just over the main road at the bottom. Everything else was a driveable distance, 15 mins to Coniston, 30 mins to Bowness or Ambleside. The only downfall was the main bed. One side dipped making it uncomfortable to the point of feeling you were to fall out of bed when turning over. Wasn't great for the back really however I survived and made do. All in all loved our holiday and would stay again but a different lodge due to the bed

We had a relaxing holiday in the cottage.

The property is in excellent condition.

We had a wonderful stay at 8 woodlands .

The cabin was just right for 3adults. The only thing I would mention was the sign to the cabin . You could do with a light over it and also your name at the gate.

The property was of a good standard and met a lot of our requirements.

However, when it rained overnight, there was a significant constant drip onto the main bedroom window sill, probably due to the guttering. I also think that the mattress of the bed was probably a bit shot it was very soft and when getting onto the bed significant spring flexing. As an improvement option a corner settee for 4 people would be better rather than the 3 seater sofa & separate chair. In summary, we enjoyed our stay and would probably return, as the location was perfect for a peaceful holiday. A few tweaks would improve the lodge.

My children 6 and 9 (and the pup) had the best time, so much so they didn’t want to come home. The lodge was very clean, well kept and you had everything you needed to hand. The decor was lovely and the beds were extremely comfortable. We are planning to come back next year. Thank you for a great stay!

The property was lovely and clean well maintained with everything we needed to enjoy our break situated not far from local amenities but felt like it was in middle of nowhere with the peace and quiet.

Would love to stay again, accurately described, good kitchen utensils and everything you need!

It would be nice to have your own car space

We found everything we need here to make our stay very comfortable and relaxing.

The location is quiet and peaceful. We explored the surrounding area every day and found new places we had not visited before. Lots of walking possibilities if that’s your thing. Recommend the studio & cafe - Undercrag - in Torver. Look out for the Robin who visited us most days out on the balcony. The fells had a light covering of snow which made a lovely view to photograph. Lots of memories made this week. Thank you.
