Corning Mill View

We’ve just had a wonderful week in May staying in Corning Mill View with our dog.

From the first impressions driving in as it’s set in a beautiful & peaceful area to opening the door & entering our lodge. The touches of leaving a card & welcome gifts was really lovely & thoughtful. We had everything we needed in the lodge & Sarah was on hand to answer any questions we needed. We’re looking forward to coming back in August! Thanks for a great week! Julie

What a FANTASTIC place, really hit the jackpot with this one!

Superb location and fantastic chalets, right down to the little welcome gift touches. Easy access, beautiful settings, quiet, and very dog friendly. Couldn't have wished for a better location. Only minor downside is that if you want to eat or drink out, then it really means a drive out, nearest place is just a little too far for a comfortable walk after a long days walking and a good meal. That said, we ate in the chalet so didn't bother us. People on site are really friendly and happy to chat Definitely recommend this site and if we return to this area will certainly look to stay here again.

Beautiful setting, very peaceful. Place was clean and tidy with everything you need for a lovely stay. Lovely comfy beds as well. Will return.

This property is well maintained and clean with great quality fixtures.

There is a handy bus route nearby and plenty of walking maps to walk directly from the cottage,

Set in a beautifully quiet rural location, less than 10 minutes from lake Windermere, it provided the perfect base for our first family stay in the lakes.

The lodge is stunning and much more spacious than anticipated. The beds are really comfortable, which I rarely say when staying away. We would love to come back.

Four adults(2 couples) have just returned from a fantastic 7 night stay in 9 Corming Mill lodge .

.so much space & every appliance uou could need..spotlessly clean throughout..super comfortable beds and high end furnishings made this probably the best accomodation we have ever stayed in..the little touches of lemonade and kendal mint cake were appreciated lovely quiet surroundings made this for a very relaxing stay..we all loved staying here..Thank you Sarah for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge. Corning Mill View is a lovely lodge and we were very pleased with the accommodation, position and overall cleanliness.

However, we were shocked and somewhat sickened to find a bag of dog excrement on the shelf at the top of the undercounter refuse cupboard in the kitchen which we had to dispose of and then thoroughly clean.

No complaints.

Lovely well equipped lodge. The lodge was warm and comfortable which was very welcome given the weather we had.

Really nice property in a quite area which was lovely, definitely stay there again!

Corning Mill View was an absolute delight to stay in.

The lodge was well appointed, had everything we needed, and we loved the quality of everything, from the complimentary lotions and toiletries to the fixtures and furnishings. Highlight was the huge ensuites and walk in showers to both bedrooms, meaning we didn't have to fight for space around each other! Would definitely stay again!

We recently stayed at Corning Mill View as we were attending Cartmel Races.

We can honestly say this is one of the best holiday lodges we have ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in a few! Excellent communication on the day, lovely extra touches in the way of cumbrian fruit cake and pure lakes cleanliness products. Fantastic private location at the end of site! Couldn’t ask for more! My children already want to go back! We would 100% return. Thank you!

We had a great few days in this lovely lodge, it is one of the nicest I have ever stayed in.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious, very well thought out with everything you need. Really nice touches such as the dog towel and treats and the locally produced products. The site is very picturesque and peaceful and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We had an excellent stay at the lodge.

Very clean and comfortable. Good quality fittings etc. Lots of little extras which were appreciated. The only things missing for us was a whisky in the kitchen and some kind of covering for the glass front door. A curtain or a blind. The sun shinning through blocked the TV and it was difficult to keep cool. I would also suggest advertising it is a difficult road to walk to the pub. There are no pavements. We had a really lovely relaxing time. Our dogs loved it too.

Stayed for a family event nearby and it was a great idea we will do again, comfortable and everything you could want.

We played there as children many years ago, the way the land has been laid out and cared for is very sympathetic to nature and the history - really lovely. My 5 year old grandson didn't want to leave.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Corning Mill View.

From the second we arrived we found ourselves right at home. The place is tucked away in such a beautiful spot — super peaceful and surrounded by nature, which made it feel like a real escape. Our lodge was modern and very clean, with a super comfy bed and great showers. We loved the little treats left by Sarah. The outside space was perfect for morning coffees or afternoons spent reading (weather permitting) Beyond the lodge there were many local walks. We enjoyed learning about the history behind Wateredge Mill and can’t commend the owners enough for being sympathetic to the surroundings and history. Each lodge is positioned so that you don’t feel overlooked by the neighbours. We are already talking about when we can come back as having stayed in a few similar lodges, this truly was the best so far.

Just returned from a break staying at corning mill view Lodge was first class with everything we needed for a relaxing break The lodge and settings are very tranquil,away from all the hustle and bustle.

Lodge was immaculate and a pleasure to stay in Will be back as soon as we can Great break.

We absolutely loved our time at Corning Mill View, we didn't want to come home!

It was decorated beautifully and was super clean. We had everything we needed for a week long stay. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day of hiking. Our dogs loved it too! We loved that it was the end lodge too, it felt very private. When we arrived there were some treats left for us and our dogs which was very thoughtful. Even though it's not the most central location, that didn't bother us. It was about 20 mins to Bowness or Coniston, 40 to Ambleside/Grasmere and 1 hour to Keswick. The drives to and from each place was lovely due to the amazing scenery so it was actually nice! 100% would recommend and would come back again! Thank you.

Beautiful cabin, superbly fitted out and spotless Great location, perfect for anyone wanting some relaxing, peace and quiet

we absolutely loved the cottage & had a fabulous time, they were only 2 little things we noticed 1: the guttering was very noisy when it rained, possibly due to it being made of metal 2: when i stripped the bed the mattress protector was a bit dirty

Excellent lodge in a perfect location.

The setting is beautiful in a quiet area of the lakes but easily accessible to the southern lakes. Being so close to the steam train which takes you to the bottom end of Windermere means you can take a boat trip to Bowness or Ambleside without the hassle of parking in the busy areas. Will definitely book this lodge again. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a fantastic stay at Corning Mill View.

The lodge is set in an idyllic location, away from the bustle of the busier attractions but only ever a 30 min car journey in each direction towards the areas of interest. It allowed us to explore so much of the Lake District whilst providing us with a modern, clean and luxurious base to stay for our 7 nights. The owners are very attentive to detail and proactive in their engagement with guests, which was appreciated and welcomed by us. The lodge is equipped way beyond expectations, and it was clear the owners had reflected the needs of all guests, even leaving welcome treats and a towel for our dog. The children loved the grounds, the waterfall shower in the rooms and the open plan of the lodge (they may have enjoyed the lodge more than the activities we did in the lakes!). We will not hesitate to book again in the future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed in one of the Lodges with 2 other adults and 2 dogs in late June 2024.

We all agreed that the accommodation was superb and will probably book again next year There are 9 Lodges spaced well apart in an area of wild meadow with a river flowing through the land. Each Lodge has it's own private patio with our door eating area and barbecue. There is very little traffic noise and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. The accommodation is very spacious, modern and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to buy food from a nearby Booths supermarket and cook most of our meals on site. We had everything we needed in our Lodge to make our stay comfortable, such as washing machine, dish washer and flat screen TV. There was also a touch of luxury with an nespresso coffee machine complete with pods and some locally produced toiletries. We spent our holiday walking, going to the nearby coast and visiting a couple of nearby stately homes. We were very lucky to have warm sunny weather for most of our stay, but would have enjoyed the holiday regardless of the weather. Most of the outings we did required a short journey in the car, but we didn't have to travel for more than half an hour. There is a pub which serves good food and a station cafe within walking distance. I don't usually leave reviews but this accommodation was very good and I'd like others to know about it.

Lovely place, really liked the property and the surroundings.

Easy checking in and out with the key / lock box on site. Loved the goodies (apple juice and dog treats) upon arrival. Location was perfect and meant we were in close distance to many attractions or places to visit. A special first holiday with our young son, we couldn’t have wished for anything better. We can’t wait to come back in the future!

From the moment we arrived at the lodge, we were enveloped in peace and tranquility.

With horses and pheasants as our nearest neighbours, it truly felt like a home away from home. The lodge itself was super clean and modern, striking the perfect balance between contemporary comforts and rustic charm. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a day of exploring the great outdoors. Speaking of which, the nature views were a highlight of our stay. The gentle flow of the river nearby provided a serene backdrop for our morning coffee. For those of us who appreciate a good cup of joe, the Nespresso coffee machine and French press were much appreciated touches that catered to our caffeine needs. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the necessary appliances, including a dishwasher, making meal prep a breeze. After our adventurous, albeit muddy walks, the washing machine with a dryer was a godsend. It made our stay that much easier, ensuring we always had clean, dry clothes ready for the next day’s activities. The hosts were nothing short of wonderful, providing great recommendations for local restaurants and breakfast spots. Their helpfulness added a personal touch to our stay, making us feel well-cared for. In summary, our stay at the lodge was nothing short of perfect. It’s a place we would recommend to anyone looking for a clean, modern, and comfortable retreat in nature. Thank you for making our getaway so memorable!
