The Yews

The minute you walk through the Lodge door, you are made to feel welcome.

The Lodge is exceptionally clean, spacious and very well thought out. On the dining table you have a welcome Card, fruit cake, bottle of juice, Kendal Cakes and a packet of treats for your dog. ‘Thank You’ for such a nice welcome. The are is Private and Peaceful. Definitely going to return as still lots to do and see in and around Haverthwaite. A big ‘Thank You’ to everyone that takes time to look after the Lodges and surrounding areas at Low Wood.

We thought the accommodation was excellent.

The facilities were top notch - even down to providing our dogs with treats. The bedrooms were very well appointed and the duvets lovely and warm. We thought the bathrooms were first class and we would thoroughly recommend the Yews to future guests.

Wonderful Lodge in a very quiet secluded setting.

The Lodge was very well equipment and of a very high standard. Comfortable and relaxing. Great surroundings on the doorstep for walks or just relaxing on the veranda. Especially enjoyed the night sky due to minimal artificial lighting, amazing for star gazers ! Lake Windermere and surrounding villages and plenty of other beautiful places to visit. Just loved it all! Only one issue was we found it difficult to find initially, clearer signage would be helpful. Otherwise a perfect holiday. Thank you

Beautiful property that was spotlessly clean, had absolutely everything we needed.

Kitchen was well equipped and the property was warm and spacious. Quiet and peaceful location, a perfect base to explore the lakes.

The accomodation was lovely and modern.

In spite of a wet weekend we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the The Yews.

It was warm and very comfortable, well equipped and quiet. We were most intrigued by the history of the surroundings - they provoked much discussion regarding the manufacture of gunpowder! We will certainly recommend the lodge to family and friends.

We enjoyed the luxury of plenty of space as well as the well planned, implemented and maintained accommodation.

There is also plenty of space outside between the cabins which are all in a picturesque setting along the river bank. Loved it!

This was an amazing lodge with everything you could possibly need and more.

One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in, home and abroad!! The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful.

Quiet location with extensive grounds to explore (fascinating gunpowder factory history). Accommodation well equipped, warm, very comfy and a nice welcome pack was included. Highly recommended. We will stay here again!

What a fantastic venue for a Lakes Holiday.

The YEW Lodge was immaculate, the furniture and fittings were all 5 star plus. Very quiet and tranquil. A very interesting history about the dynamite factory is well recorded by Sarah the owner with lots of information on the local area and many walks and places of interest and good places to eat. We will definitely be revisiting, probably later this year.
