Mallard Lodge

A perfect home-from-home lodge.

A warm welcome from the owner, Pat, with a guided tour to show us around and make sure we were settled in. The lodge was lovely and comfortable, had everything and more that was needed for our holiday and was lovely and clean. The lodge park itself had great facilities and was perfectly sited for getting around to visit the local area.

Nice lodge.

Well equipped. Many thoughtful touches add to overall comfort and ambience. Age of lodge though beginning to show a little tiredness. Location of lodge good. Only downside is that if you are sensitive to noise you can hear the constant drone of the traffic on the M6 and north west rail line when outside on the decking. The whole park is subject to this.

Excellent lodge stay from greeting from the owner Pat the lodge was clean tidy and had many facilities everything was catered for.

The lodge had a nice view and had a christmas tree and festive decorations as our stay was over the Christmas period. This was our first stay at Mallard lodge but will happily return for another stay in 2026

Our second visit and everything was just as comfortable, clean and perfect.

Pat welcomed us and then left us to enjoy a relaxing week in her lovely Lodge. Thank you.

Our stay at Mallard Lodge was excellent!

We were met by the owner on arrival who then showed us round and explained all we needed to know. Attention to detail made our stay in the lodge very comfortable and amenable. Pretty much everything we needed was there! The views of the lake made it a very pleasant place to stay with facilities to sit and eat outside on the decking. The place was very clean, had WiFi and was pet free which suited us ideally as my daughter has a dog allergy. We would definitely consider a return visit. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit in the future.

We had a great few days at Mallard Lodge.

A lovely warm welcome from the owner. The lodge was spotless and very well equipped. Pat had provided all the kitchen and bathroom basics which is always a nice touch. There's so much to do within a short drive even in a cold wet February. From here you've on the edge of The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Lancashire and the seaside. I imagine the spring and summer months would be beautiful. The park is well maintained and has a great pub/ restaurant. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

The Lodge was very homely and with everything we needed. The site is well located.

The owner Pat met us on arrival and explained everything. Lodge was spotless and it’s situated in the most tranquil surroundings. Lodge overlooked the lake. Would definitely come back.

Home from home everything you need on site restaurant with good food and service. Highly recommend.

Very well equipped and clean and tidy with everything you would need for your holiday and to be welcomed by Pat and Sue on arrival was great.

Also a lovely setting and outlook from the setting.

The only problem we had was that your map shows Mallard Lodge as being on the west side of the A6 , and not actually in the South Lakeland Park, which is where it is.

The accommodation itself was fine.

Booked this lodge hoping for a nice quite setting.

Better than we were hoping for, truely tranquil location and the beautiful lodge was the icing on the cake. Pat the owner made sure we had everything in place for our stay and could not be more helpful.

The lodge was very well presented and had everything that you could possibly need and more to have a comfortable stay.

Pat greeted us on arrival and made us very welcome and showed us around. Wifi was excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore the area. The only thing we didn’t like was the horrible rainy weather!

This property lived up to its description in the advert.

Everything we needed to ensure we were comfortable during a week of stormy wet weather was available. As it was Christmas week the owner, Pat, had ensured there was a fully decorated Christmas Tree to greet our arrival along with milk, a bottle of water and a bottle of Prosecco which after a congested drive up the M6 motorway were most welcome. We hope to return again in the future.

this property could not be faulted.

it is a lovely property and had everything required for our stay. the owner Pat went out of her way to help and get the property ready as it was a very late booking, 1pm on the Saturday, as we had an issue with our chosen property as the boiler was broken. It was a very nice touch by Pat that she likes to meet the people who are using her accommodation and show them around the property. It is 1st class accommodation and probably the best we have every stopped in.

Pat is a very good host and arrival all went smoothly.

The accomodation is to a very high standard and well maintained. The Lodge is spacious and contained all we needed and we are happy to highly reccomend this. The noise from workmen building decks etc on adjacent properties was beyond the owners control and we were surprised that the Site Management allows this work this time of year when people want a quiet time. Weekenders are ok ,We went out each week day.

A beautiful lodge situated near to the lake it was really nice and clean too.

All necessities provided within the lodge and we needed nothing at all.

Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds are super comfy. There is Everything in the kitchen you could possibly need to cook a homely meal. Lovely decking with views of the lake. Would definitely recommend and we will return. Thanks for a lovely stay.
