Description

An immaculately presented, detached lodge located on a superbly maintained holiday park on the shores of Lake Windermere in the beautiful Lake District.

Well-appointed throughout to provide wonderful accommodation, this all-ground floor Windermere cottage has three bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and there is also a private hot tub for guests to enjoy all year round.

The open plan living area exudes quality and style, with a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with flat screen TV and French doors leading to the front decked area, complete with an indulgent bubbling hot tub.

The lake shore is only a few hundred yards and has a jetty where boats are moored.

There is plenty of space for picnics, lots of ducks to feed and the sunsets from this idyllic lakeside location are unspoilt and look out across the lake to the mountains beyond.

The lovely village of Troutbeck Bridge is home to a convenience store and the delightful Sun Inn, ideal for when you don’t fancy cooking.

Drive on to Windermere, where you can enjoy a wide variety of watersports on world-famous Lake Windermere, take in the scenery from the top of Queen Adelaide's Hill and Orrest Head, explore the popular World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, and feast on fresh seafood at Hooked.

Bowness-on-Windermere is where you'll find three Michelin-starred restaurants, perfect for the foodies in your group.

In addition to the Armitt Library and Museum Centre and the stunning Stock Ghyll Force, Ambleside also features a fascinating 2nd-century Fort, or you can venture further to Grasmere, where you can wander around the former home of the great poet, William Wordsworth.

Experience all of this, and then some, at 22 Thirlmere.

We had a lovely stay, the place is very well equipped, I can't think of anything they could add tbh.

The hot tub was brilliant, great for relaxing after a walk. Great communication with the owner too, we will be back.

The accommodation at 22 Thirlmere was really lovely.

There were 6 of us - adults - plus a dog for 2 nights. It was immaculate inside and there was plenty of room for all of us to comfortably move about and cook as well. The bedrooms were a good size with enough good quality storage, and the main bathroom and ensuite were a good size as well. The decking area was lovely as well with the hot tub being the main feature for us, although the weather did not allow for sitting out.

The pictures online don’t do this place justice.

It’s more beautiful inside than expected, with everything you need and plenty of space for a big family and pets. The only down side was the kitchenware being dirty, we needed to clean things before we used them. I think this is more down to the previous clients staying. Everything else was clean and comfortable and the jacuzzi was a blessing to have after a very busy two days. Access to the site is easy and everything you need to know is given before hand by the lodge owners including what facilities were available onsite. Everything was easily communicated via text or e mail. The location is fantastic, being at white cross bay means your are centre of the lake, a short walk to the docks were there’s water sports and hiring facilities, we kayaked in white cross bay and walked 20mins into Ambleside or it’s just a short 7min drive. Be mindful, it does get busy, and traffic can back up quickly and the carparks full. There’s loads of parking but it’s a popular location so they do fill up very quickly. It pays to be up and out early and have your days planned in advance. Everywhere is beautiful, the people, the food and the activities it was all great. For food, we ate at the ambleside cafe and had cheese toasties for lunch, staff are so friendly. For activities, we hired kayaks at Low wood bay and kayaked up into Ambleside, took us 45 min to an hour to get there, had an ice cream and returned. We hired a private motor boat from waters head in Ambleside for a hour and also visited the cathedral cave, which is an amazing site to explore, in, around and ontop of. We happened to attended the free National trust event just at the local Roman ruins in Ambleside. You can visit the ruins at anytime they are situated in a local park but always check online for any free local events that could be on. Overall an amazing stay, I’d definitely stay at the lodge again.
