It is always important to make sure that your holiday lodge is kept to a high standard, but you can always go the extra mile to really impress your guests.

In this guide, we give you some examples of what you can do to get your property to stand out from the crowd. The more you can make your lodge a truly special experience for your guests, the more likely they are to return and leave a nice review!

Welcome Pack

A welcome pack is a nice way to introduce your guests to your property and can help them to feel right at home.

These packs can come in many different shapes and sizes. Some can be quite extravagant while others could be as simple as a short personalised note expressing your appreciation for them picking your lodge.

Welcome packs can also be a good way to share valuable information with your guests that they could find helpful, such as guidance on how to use the household appliances and a ‘Do’s & Dont’s’ sheet.

Other welcome pack items may include:

  • Transport timetable
  • Information on attractions and amenities
  • A small gift
  • Tea, coffee and maybe some cheeky biscuits

Good Quality Bedding

Make sure to provide your guests with high-quality bedding and linen. A good night’s sleep can make a huge difference in how they will feel about your property. If you manage the lodge yourself, make sure that all bedding is washed thoroughly and ready for your next arrival. Investing in bedding will make sure (hopefully) that no one gets up out of the wrong side of the bed!

To give your guests the best chance of a good night’s sleep make sure to equip the bedroom with blackout curtains and some form of fan to keep them cool in the summer months. Maybe even include an aroma diffuser to help your visitors feel extra zen…

Property Exterior

As your guests arrive at your property, the first thing they will notice is how it looks on the outside. First impressions matter and keeping a well-maintained exterior can make your lodge more appealing. There are also safety considerations to keep in mind. If there is a lot of clutter or damage that has not been fixed, you could be putting your guests in harm’s way. Moreover, keeping the outside of your property clean and tidy can help to market your property to potential guests.

Dog Friendly

Is your lodge dog friendly? If so, consider giving your guests some treats for their four-legged companions. Dogs are a key part of the family household and people will appreciate you thinking of them. You may even want to provide a dog bowl and other items that could be useful.

Happy Dog
