“The Fold was a wonderful lodge.”

Had everything needed for a break in the lakes. Nicely located too. Well equipped kitchen, and clean throughout. Comfy beds.

Had everything needed for a break in the lakes. Nicely located too. Well equipped kitchen, and clean throughout. Comfy beds. If only we could organise better weather - but that’s what you expect in the lakes, so you just get on with it. Loved it and would recommend. What would I like more of? A coffee machine (type advertised so you can bring your own pods) An extra couple of gin glasses and a few more cups & plates in the cupboard.

Joining the space is a fabulous dining area, where you can gather with loved ones over a delicious bottle of wine as you begin to map out all of your upcoming adventures exploring this magnificent part of the country. Continue the festivities in the restful seating area as you keep nice and warm from the heat of the electric fire, or fling open the patio doors and enjoy drinks on the decking whilst watching the sun set on another marvellous day. Back inside, three delightfully decorated bedrooms await you; a large double with an en-suite shower, a second double and a quaint and peaceful twin. The bedrooms are then served by a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, as well as a basin and WC. Make the most of your time in the Lake District with days spent hiking the spectacular fells, as you challenge yourself to climb the heights of Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike, or take a gentler approach with a wander or cycle through Whinlatter Forest Park. The centre of Keswick sits right on your doorstep, boasting attraction such as the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place and the Keswick Museum, whilst the captivating Threlkeld Quarry and Mining museum is just a pleasant stroll away. Head out onto the Derwentwater on a day of adventure with the Keswick Adventure centre, whether canoeing or kayaking, or head across to the opulent Derwent Island House, now owned by the National Trust. Indulge in a picnic at Friars Crag or devour a heart-warming meal at one of the many local cafés or restaurants, before heading to Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere to uncover Ambleside Roman Fort, Stock Ghyll Force and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.
