“The property and the site it was based on was superb!”
First house on your right as you enter the site opposite reception. So not far from the playgrounds , reception, pub and pool . The lodge and the site , was really dog Friendly !
The lodge it's self was clean , modern and spacious ! Lovely living area and just the right size, wooden flooring so really dog friendly ! Lots to do in close surrounding areas. Mostly outdoor activities and weather permitting locations nearby . However a perfect retreat non the less .
In case of bad weather recommend visiting Brockhole which has a zip line activity, massive park ( no dogs allowed) , nice walks which are dog friendly.
Indoor activities we went to the lakeside aquarium, quite small probably an hour / 90 minute visit but enjoyable especially with young ones. We didn't know about it but you can book a ferry ride or train ride joint tickets with the aquarium and make it a full morning or afternoon out .
Dogs allowed on boat but not in the aqauriam.
The owners were very quick to respond with any enquiries and extremely accommodating.
Only feedback to the owners would be , there was a handheld hoover but not a standing hoover. On our stay it was terrible weather . The handheld hoover made cleaning a bit more back breaking and time consuming.
Highly recommend,
Hoping to return soon I'm spring or summer months .
Thank you .
