“My family arrived for a 2 night stay and were so impressed with the property - everything was spotless, light and airy with a well equipped kitchen, sky tv(not that we needed it) games cupboard and even a welcome pack.”

The location was amazing, secluded in the greenery of the trees but a lovely view of Lake Windermere beyond. Just a short walk into the bustle of Bowness - an amazing stay - will book this lodge again!!

“Outstanding accommodation!”

We travelled as a family of 5; 2 adults and 3 children (5 year old and 2 year old twins) this was a very last minute booking, much to my horror, as in booked it Friday morning and set off an hour later! Turned out to be one of the best weekends away we’ve had! I’m very fussy with cleanliness, this exceeded my expectations I usually ship the husband out with the kids for an hour to unpack and fully clean the place when we go away but we were able to unpack and get straight out!! We didn’t take travel cots but we put the mattress from the top bunk on the floor and the twins were able to sleep on there, our eldest had one of the other rooms to himself. The lodge is immaculate with a very well thought out floor plan. We didn’t use the outside space but the view was lovely, can imagine it would be perfect on a summer night with a glass of wine! Plenty on outdoor furniture and the decking area was big enough for a large family to enjoy or eat outside. I’d seen a couple of people had mentioned that the living room furniture wasn’t very comfortable, I do get it, and on a personal preference I’d would have a more ‘lounge-y’ sofa but it was plenty comfortable for the evenings when watching the Tv and relaxing so not really an issue for us! The WiFi wasn’t great but we used our personal hotspots on our mobiles and had no problems. We didn’t use the sky Tv so I can’t comment on that but Netflix and the general Tv channels were fine for our stay. We absolutely loved our stay here and the location was just perfect, we’ve been looking for our next stay!, hopefully it won’t be too long until we can return!

“The lodge was excellent, the only comment is that one morning there was no water, we had to contact the maintenance team.”

It turns out there is a safety cut off switch in the lodge, which had to be re_set. Could you please put a note in the Lodge instructions 'What to do it there is no water to the Lodge' this would of been very helpful , and would of saved a lot of hassle. However this will not deter is from returning.

“Windermere Lodge is nice enough but not what I would describe as a luxurious lodge by any means.”

The sofa and upright side chairs are very stylish but extremely uncomfortable and not welcomed after a long day walking/hiking. Thick dust in the bedrooms which has obviously been there for some time (I have photos) The plastic green covering that had been placed over the units in the master bedroom are split on some of the drawers and lifting on headboard with visible glue where a repair had been attempted and edging of bedside units also lifting it was all very unsightly and not luxurious at all (I have photos). The duvet was stained. The fridge door needs attention as it has dropped. There were no empty kitchen cupboards In which to store food. I cleaned three of the bifold door windows which were very dirty so I could enjoy the view of the lake. I booked this lodge as it had such great reviews and is described in your details as luxurious but in my opinion it was definitely not worth the money I paid. I have stayed at Falbarrow many times and rented much better lodges for a lot less money. Falbarrow is a beautiful holiday park, we had a fantastic break and I will definitely go back there but I would not go back to this lodge. Extremely disappointed.

It is rare to have negative feedback but we do take your comments on board and all issues have been passed to our management company who are already addressing the issues you raised. As the advertising and photos shows the lodge is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style with high end furniture and has been generally well received by guests. The kitchen units are modern and stylish and well equipped - there are cupboards for food storage as well as glassware and dinnerware so I am sorry that these were not enough for your stay. We want all our guests to enjoy the lodge and have a comfortable stay therefore we are pleased to hear you had a fantastic break and hope that the issues you raised did not detract too much from your stay. “We really enjoyed our stay at Windermere Lodge.”

The location is great just a few mins from Bowness and the facilities were great (the park had a children's play area, cafe and shop and it was only a short walk to the lakeside) The lodge was fantastic - modern with nice furniture, we have young children so spent quite a bit of time in on an evening, the DVDs (There are Beatrix Potter ones which we watched after visiting the museum.) The outdoor furniture and BBQ were great too. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again.

“We enjoyed our first stay in Windermere lodge and would definately book again.”

The lodge was clean in all the main areas bathroom, kitchen and bedrooms etc but not sure how often they have a deep clean. Around the edges of the windows and the venitian blinds were quite dusty and down the sides of the chairs had not been hovered/cleaned. Would be interestred to know if this is something that is done weekly or not. It did not detract from our stay as the lodge met all our needs and was comfortable.

“My Husband and I had a lovely stay at Windermere Lodge.”

The Lodge was very modern, clean and comfortable. The Bedrooms were all a good size and had plenty of wardrobe space. Beds were also a good size and very comfortable. The under floor heating in the bathroom was a real treat, so nice!! A well equipped kitchen had everything we needed and more. The on site Willow Bar / Restaurant served excellent food and all the staff there were very friendly and helpful. The Deli shop was handy for a few groceries and a nice stop off for a coffee after walking back from Bowness. We had a nice relaxing week here which was well needed. Thank You !!

“Lodge was beautiful.”

However, the front door wouldn’t lock on a couple of occasions. It has clearly been fixed previously but think it needs a new lock! Sofa in living room very uncomfortable. Shame as otherwise our stay was fine.

“Everything in the lodge was exceptionally clean & of a very high standard .”

Only problem we had was with the bbq . The top part looked quite clean but when we started to use it , we then realised it had never been cleaned underneath . There was so much fat all lying in it which had burned & caused flames to shoot up whenever we lit it . We had to thoroughly scrub it to try to get it clean . We left it as spotless as was possible . This was really disappointing .

The property

Stylish Windermere Lodge is set within Fallbarrow Park, nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere and just a few minutes' walk from the popular town of Bowness-On-Windermere . Its five star facilities include a popular bar and restaurant, a well-stocked deli and shop, children's play area, games area and of course a lakeside location offers boat launching and a small marina. Windermere Lodge is a finished in a contemporary and sophisticated style and to a very high standard and is the ideal place to enjoy time away with friends or family. The large decked area that wraps around the lodge is the ideal spot to relax with a glass of wine or a morning coffee and to enjoy glimpses of Lake Windermere through the surrounding woodland. Accommodation in detail From parking the car, the lodge is approached from the opposite side via the raised deck and features resin deck with glass balustrade surrounding the decking. The front door opens to a hallway. From here the lodge opens to a bright and spacious, open plan lounge, dining, kitchen area with bifold doors surrounding to the decking. The comfortable sofa and armchairs are arranged around a feature fire place and large screen TV. The quality fitted kitchen includes a dishwasher, washer/dryer, under counter fridge and separate freezer, induction hob and oven and the room is finished with a contemporary family dining table for 6. The Bi-Fold doors lead to the large decking area that wraps around the lodge offering comfortable rattan seating to relax and have coffee or a glass of wine or eat alfresco using the gas barbecue. A lovely way to spend a summers evening as it also features a Lake View! Windermere Lodge offers three bedrooms, the master bedroom includes a king size bed and is complemented by spacious walk in wardrobe and a smart ensuite shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. The bright and airy second bedroom is furnished with Twin Beds and fitted furniture and the third bedroom features bunk beds perfect for families. The family bathroom is of a high standard and offers a bath with shower over, inset washbasin, fitted storage and WC. The property features parking for two cars directly next to the lodge outside. Location Bowness village is probably the Lake District's most popular holiday destination, and it's an ideal choice for couples. The village nestles on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, with dramatic scenery to the fells beyond and endless opportunities to take to the water - romantic row boats to leisurely evening cruises on the famous steamers. What's more, Bowness high street boasts a wide selection of contemporary shops, sophisticated boutiques, handy supermarkets and tempting cafes. You'll find everything you could need during your Lake District holiday just a stroll away from your door. Bowness village is the one of the livelier locations in the Lake District, with numerous top quality restaurants and inns and there's always something for every taste. Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. Windermere Lodge is in a hilly area of the park. It is accessed by 4 wooden steps by the front door and 3 to the side deck. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot will fit in the master bedroom only.

The deck is enclosed but not gated.
