    Although accommodation was excellent the description of the park was not, the park was further from windermere not in walking distance the shop/reception was small and not well stocked the site was looking tired and flower beds with no flowers no signage for walker

    So glad to hear you were happy with the accommodation at Pheasants Nest. Sorry you felt the property description was misleading. The listing says the lodge is ‘near’ not ‘in’ Windermere. The location plan shows that we are on the A592 about 2 miles from the town in the peaceful village of Troutbeck. Unless you are a regular walker as you say , this is not necessarily walkable and we do not describe it as such. The shop is described as small and as we are a small site you will appreciate that what they stock reflects this but we have usually found they have what we need. We are up at the park this weekend and will take your comments about the condition of the park up with the park management who are usually fairly proactive. We hope you still had an enjoyable holiday. Property Owner

The property

Pheasant’s Nest Lodge is a beautifully presented, modern lodge located in the popular Kirkstone area of Limefitt Park.

Enjoying a quieter location, this lodge has spectacular views of the surrounding fells making the Troutbeck Valley.

Stepping inside the lodge you can make your way into the beautiful and tastefully decorated open plan living/dining/kitchen.

This space is perfect for the whole family to socialise and play games or enjoy a delicious home cooked meal.

Down the hall, you will find two snug bedrooms and a family shower room.

Head outside onto the large decking area with outdoor seating where you can enjoy the marvellous views on a summer evening after a long day exploring the Lake District.

Your lodge at Limefitt is surrounded by towering fells of High Street and the Kirkstone Pass.

Here you’ll enjoy nature and lovely views, and the Trout Beck running through the park.

There’s a dog-friendly pub on site, The Haybarn, a small shop and children’s playground.

From here you can walk through the fields to the fabulous pub The Queens Head, and round the corner to the Mortal Man, both traditional old pubs with log fires and a warm welcome. Make lovely holiday memories at Pheasant's Nest

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.


Pheasant’s Nest Lodge is accessed by 6 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level. There is a gentle sloping gravel driveway.

Please bring your own travel cot and highchair as they are not provided. A travel cot will fit in the twin bedroom only.

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
