Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread
If you haven’t tasted Sarah Nelson’s Gingerbread, then you don’t know what you’re missing.
This unique, spicy-sweet cross between a biscuit and cake was invented in 1854 in the village of Grasmere and is a perfect snack to enjoy any time of the day.
But don’t forget to order some of their rum butter which is award-winning too.

Hawkshead Relish Company
The Hawkshead Relish Company is an artisan producer of preserves based in the historic village of Hawkshead with no less than 50 ‘Great Taste Awards’ – they have certainly become known for their quality and excellence.
Hawkshead Relish use rare indigenous crops such as Lythe Valley Damsons for their sweet as well as savoury preserves, harvested from small Lakeland farmsteads in south Cumbria – it doesn’t come much more local than that!
