Broad Larch Lodge

We have stayed at Broad Arch Lodge 5 or 6 times and we have met/spoken to the owner too who has great customer care skills and looks after the Lodge herself.

The Lodge is quite excellent. Superbly equipped. Clean. Very comfortable. Spacious. Perfect. Everything you need is available. Room for two cars or three on a short term basis if a visitor arrives. So close to Bowness for pubs/restaurants/shops etc. The Park is lovely too--runs down directly to the Lake.

This was our second stay in this lodge and it was again lovely, we stayed for 7 days with two teens (14 and 16).

Very well equipped with everything you could need, and little extras like cooking oil, spare bin bags, cling film, pegs etc. really make it easy to stay there. Spacious rooms and well appointed with a lovely deck area that is south west facing so gets plenty of sun. Lovely location too, we spent many days down by the lake as the weather was beautiful and you can easily walk to the lakeside. Bowness also lovely and easily walkable with many lovely shops, bars and restaurants. If I could suggest one improvement it would be that the deck area needs a bit of tlc but this in no way affected our stay and I would definitely book again. This lodge would suit anyone as it has everything but just wanted to say in particular that our two teens loved it as they could take their paddleboard down to the lake easily or head into Bowness for a Costa whenever they wanted as was all walkable which make a nice relaxing break for hubby and I as hardly any moaning from the teens :)

Really loved the lodge, excellent location for the Lakes.

Well fitted out with all you would need. Comfortable and a lovely quite location. Bowness is just a 2 min walk away, so for shops and leisure you don't have to drive. It is spacious and ample for the 5 of us that stayed there. We would certainly go again.

We had a lovely weeks stay, home from home.

We've stayed on the park many times before but this was our first time booking through sykes cottages and staying at broad Larch. Such a cosy lodge, perfect location and very spacious. We can't wait to come back!

Great accommodation, very clean, well equipped, great location and quiet.

I have never stayed in a lodge before but would have no hesitation about booking Broad Larch again.

Everything about it was excellent it was clean, very comfortable and provided everything you could possibly need.

The lodge was lovely, spacious and clean.

Everything you needed already provided in the kitchen, they included a high for us which was very handy. The close proximity to the lake and town was perfect so you don’t have to drive everywhere. We will definitely be booking again.

The lodge was very clean and homely.

It had everything we needed and more. We are a family of 4 adults and it was perfect for our Christmas getaway. The location is a stone's throw from the centre of Bowness on Windermere which was ideal. Very relaxing week which was just what we needed. Communication with Kim was excellent. The goodies which we were greeted to went down very well. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to come back.

The lodge has everything you could ask for whether that be a full entertainment package through the tv if the weather restricts your outdoor activities to having excellent cooking facilities to prepare large meals if you choose to dine in. 6 adults on this occasion and not once did we feel in each others space, thank you.

Daughter Son in law and two grandson's joined us Friday and Saturday and they loved it too. We have been staying in Bowness since 1989 and this is now one of our favourites and will definitely be back. Thanks for an amazing time.

Such a beautiful lodge , this was our second stay after we fell in love with it last year .

The attention to detail is outstanding , the welcoming gift of biscuits and wine is much appreciated. Everything you could ever need is there including some toys and games also books for adults.

Site was lovely clean. Had an issue with loud music from next door, this was promptly taken care of no problems after that. Close to the shops and surrounding area. Would not hesitate to recommend

A lovely lodge with excellent facilities.

It was really nice to arrive to a pint of milk, teabags and biscuits - a lovely touch. The rooms all have tvs and with it's own wi-fi the kids were happy. We chose this one as we needed a bigger lodge this time and would definitely again should the need arise. One of the best we have stayed in and we have been a few times.

Amazing thank you so so much, I've been staying at the site since I was little and brought my husband before we got married, our friends and now our little boy, but the lodge was absolutely perfect!

Fantastic location, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you need, a true home from home. The owner has thought of absolutely everything you need and more. Very much appreciated the little welcome pack of tea, coffee biscuits etc... as well. We loved it so much that we didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning next year for certain. What a beautiful lodge.

Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need. Within walking distance of Bowness and everything this charming town has to offer. No need to use the car as could use boat or bus if needed. I would recommend Mountain Goat tours who will pick up ftom Fallbarrow Park. So much to do there so will need to come back. I did notice in previous reviews a few people mentioned the low corner sofa and I'd have to agree that it could prove awkward on the neck to watch tv. I would suggest perhaps the tv has a bracket that allows it to tilt forward. Besides that I couldn't fault a thing and had a lovely time.

Beautiful lodge.

Loved the little welcome pack. Really thoughtful. We've Booked again it's so nice. Highly recommend. Apart from being a great lodge the location was superb. Handy to everywhere. Plus a new spar has been built right next door which is a plus.

Wow we were blown away by this stunning lodge .

Everything about it inside and out was perfect . Classy, comfortable ,clean , toys , games , great location everything you could possibly want or need was included. It feels private with a hedge at front . The owners had left a welcome pack of tea coffee biscuits, a lovely touch which made us feel very welcome. Just a heads up that both fridge and freezer were turned off so we turned them on and key code hadn’t been scrambled when we arrived. We cannot wait to return ☺️

This was the third year in a row at Broadlarch.

Always clean and tidy. I hope we left it in a good clean state for the cleaning crew. Park is very quiet as I think the neighbours respect each others privacy. No issues with the lodge, although I think a couple of deck chairs would make a difference to sitting out on the veranda. The chairs at the table, although they have seat pads, can get a bit uncomfortable. This is just a personal preference, not to detract from the lodge at all.

The property was clean and well appointed, with comfortable beds.

The only slight disadvantage was the height of the television on the wall, which made for uncomfortable viewing. The lodge is well situated within the park and very handy for walking into the town.

This was our second visit to the property and is very well presented and is a great place to base yourself in Boness on Windemere.

Certainly our intention to revisit in the future.

Sofa very low and heating in main bedroom n bathroom to hot could not turn down but overall had a lovely time and nice lodge/ site would recommend

Superb lodge in private location tastefully decorated and furnished.

Immaculately presented and clean. Thanks for the very generous welcome pack and the complimentary toiletries. My only issue is that the beds and corner sofa are very low so anyone 6’ tall or elderly may have difficulty getting out of them.

The family have stayed in a large number of different lodges at Fallbarrow over the years, this is up there with one of the best in the park.

The living space is very homely, the kitchen is fully stocked with all items you would find at home. Spotless. Perfect for us travelling with a young family.

2nd time staying at Broad larch Lodge and hopefully it will be an annual break away.

The lodge is in idea location, so close to everything Bowness has to offer. The Lodge is very clean, comfortable beds and sofas and well stocked with everything you might need. A nice little touch is the basket with coffees, hot chocolate etc. And a small milk in the fridge. Little toiletries in the bathrooms. Lots of games available, an Alexa speaker to play music and decent wifi. A perfect place to stay!

We loved how the lodge was in a quiet area of the park and liked the layout and overall appearance of the internal decoration.

We were suprised at how well equipped it was, having such items as toys for younger families and board games and books. The kitchen was very well equipped, and it was a nice touch to find milk in the fridge and the tray of goodies. Our only problem comfort wise, was having to look up at the tv and the corner settee was not very comfortable, but that could be as we are a bit older, younger guest may not have a problem with this. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Amazing Stay!

Broadlarch as like a home from home. Beautiful welcome tray with Tea, Coffee, Biscuits and a family favourite Lemon curd :-). Lounge area was extremely comfortable, spacious and little extras, like Sky sports which my husband was very happy with! Kitchen had everything you could need to cook if you didnt want to visit the many restaurants in Bowness. Bedrooms were also spacious and beautifully decorated with stylish bedding and cushions. Beds very comfy, however they are on the low side if you have difficulty with low furniture. Bathrooms well maintained and lovely fluffy towels. The entire Cabin was spotlessly clean. Close to all amenities and only 5-10 minutes walk to the centre of the town. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Bowness. Will definitely be back

Had a lovely week, I have stayed before and going back in a couple of weeks time

Absolutely lovely property, was exactly what we needed for our family holiday and it was in an amazing location - literally minutes walk to Bowness.

The park was very clean. The chalet was excellent - the WiFi was incredible (kept the children very happy), the fixtures were very modern and all the little touches just added to the overall excellent experience.

We were lucky enough to stay at Broad Larch Lodge for a week, from 4th August 2023.

With children aged 11,15 & 17, we weren’t sure where to go for our Summer break. Broad Larch was the perfect base as it’s only a two minute walk in to the centre of Bowness. The lodge itself was spotless, homely and modern. The decking area is lovely and quite private too, due to hedging around the plot. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, so much so, the children have already said they’d love to go back to Broad Larch next Summer! Thank you from all of us x

Lovely lodge in Nice peaceful location, would highly recommend

The lodge was lovely and warm when we arrived and as it had been raining heavily all day it was most welcome.

The lodge is beautifully decorated, very well laid out and very spacious, including the bedrooms which were all beautifully presented. There was everything you could possibly need in the lodge and we really enjoyed our stay. We did find the corner sofa a little low for us, but appreciate that's just an age thing! The other sofa was very comfortable, and we certainly hope to visit again.

I had a lovely stay, I have a mobility problem and the matting on the decking was brilliant for me, please could I have a contact for the supplier of this for mine at home

Very enjoyable stay with an excellent welcome pack.

Nice lodge and very comfortable. There is no view from the lodge ( which we knew before from the description )but, it is a fantastic location. If I want to be extremely picky the cutlery were a little disappointing and would have liked a little more as only snacking at the lodge, eating out so therefore not using the dishwasher and outside lighting of the PARK was not very good bearing in mind it was December with an elderly father. Many thanks for the lodge and I am sure we will be returning.

Perfect location, easy stroll into Bowness.

We have two young children 2&6 and it was perfect! Plenty room and space and there was even toys for the little one which was a lifesaver on a rainy day. Would definitely recommend and hoping to rebook soon.

It is spacious, well equipped, very clean, a great position in the park, lovely decoration. In fact, it is the best Lodge we have stayed in over the years. We wish to thank the owners for allowing us to stay in their beautiful Lodge. It is impeccable. We treat the Lodge carefully as if it is our own home and we hope we can stay again. Excellent position within the park and very near to the town centre. Very quiet. Personal opinion, but could do with firmer mattress and deck chairs. Would definitely return.

Lovely cottage, really enjoyed our stay.

Incredibly well equipped with everything needed. Lovely touches such as ‘Herdy’ cups, selection of glasses etc Lodge is in a really nice position in the park, really clean and perfect for a week long stay. Prompt response about the sky tv code was really appreciated. Ongoing issues with wifi, as noted in others reviews (which there is little the owners can do about as it’s a park wide issue with the ongoing upgrade) which is the only reason I marked 4 for overall stay, however 4.75 would be more accurate overall as the only one bothered about the wifi was the teenager! Booked again for later in the year

AMAZING set up for kids!

Clean, well equipped and perfect location. Reasonable price too. Only draw back was that the wifi wasn’t working whilst we were there. Will definitely be back in the future!

Biggest problem at Fallbarrow is the wi-fi connection, although reception said it was going to be upgraded!

even though the lodge was supposed to have its own dedicated wi-fi it still wouldn’t connect!! To be fair only there a short Time we didn’t ring support. This is the 7th time at fallbarrow, Lovely lodge great location, few minutes walk into Bowness our youngest grandson loved playing with the toys, especially dominoes. Maybe a box or cover to put the outside furniture cushions in before it rained & couldn’t sit on them! Would recommend Trattorias Italian restaurant , great food & Not too expensive . The willows bar on site is also good & our 2 grandsons Loved the games room. Would certainly return.

I wouldn't go again.

I was so looking forward this break not having a holiday for a couple of years due to covid. Myself and my kids have come back with severe neck pain due to the pillows that were in the bedroom. We changed them around as there were several in the bedrooms but they were all the same. I'm now off work trying to recover including the kids. This has put me going again as I paid nearly £900 for 3 nights stay which is alot of money and you expect the best.

Broad Larch can only be described as a most clean,comfortable and homely base to explore a beautiful county.

The location and setting of the lodge is perfect. A stones throw away from the lakeside and the village of Bowness. Thankyou to the owners who provided so many extras often not provided by other rentals. We appreciated that even though we came pre prepared for a lesser provision. Thankyou to the cleaners who clearly are the best of the best. We enjoyed a fantastic week

We have stayed on Fallbarrow for many years, however, this year we booked with Sykes and found Broad Larch Lodge.

It is the best lodge we have ever stayed in. Cleaning was of the utmost high standard, the lodge itself is beautiful with every little thing catered for to the highest standard. The rooms are beautifully dressed with the smallest of detail right up to making your stay as comfortable as possible. We were able to check in earlier with the ok from the owners and we thank you very much for that. We had a wonderful break in this stunning lodge.. The owners should feel very proud of what they have achieved for the comfort of all guests. We will definitely be returning, and again Thank uou.

An exceptional property in a lovely location - just a two minute walk to Lake Windermere and with other walks quite literally on your doorstep.

Quiet, secluded and with first class facilities - including Satellite TV with all sports channels accessible if you currently subscribe to NOW TV and/or BT Sports. Great having access to Netflix as well. Bedrooms are lovely, peaceful and immaculately maintained. Living room/kitchen has a wonderful homely feel. Tranquility personified. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to stay here again.

We have stayed in many lodges on Fallbarrow mostly in the "Glade" area and this is by far the best.

The lodge was perfect for us, 4 adults and our grandson who celebrated his 2nd birthday over the weekend.

Ideal for anybody travelling with a baby/toddler as there is a travel cot and high chair available also cutlery and plastic plates, very thoughtful of the homeowner to have these, also a toy box. This lodge also ideal for couples as well as lots of space and two bathrooms. Ideally located only 5 min walk into Bowness for all the facilities there. The lodge was spotless and a credit to the owners very tastefully renovated.

The property is superb and has all the facilities you would need, nicely decorated and in a great position on the Park.

We had to cut short our stay due to a power failure in the area so did not benefit from the lodges facilities but I would return in the future.

Been back to Broad Larch Lodge three times now, love this lodge facilities are great, position is great, lodge is so clean & spacious.

Had a fab weekend for my daughters birthday.,Arrived on the Friday & enjoyed a short 5 minute walk into Bowness sat by the lake & enjoyed coffee & cake with a resident swan! Saturday we had booked in Ayside a predatory experience walking with wolves for my daughters 16th birthday amazing would highly recommend, only 20 minutes away by car. Saturday afternoon took a boat trip over to Ambleside. Sunday enjoyed looking around all the little gift shops in Bowness, we had a lovely weekend all round.

What a great cabin!

We had a great week away - relaxing, everything on our doorstep, lots to do.

Very nice lodge, clean and tidy and very well situated.

Only problem is you have gone greedy because of COVID 19. Your prices have gone from £2400 up to £4000 for next year which is disgraceful. Not much chance of you keeping repeat customers when you do things like that.

Beautiful better than expected would definitely recommend it.

Broad Larch was a lovely lodge and spotless.

It was a nice touch to see that we had been given a bottle of wine to start our holiday and cake and sweets. The lodge had everything we required and we were luck to have 2 bbq’s during the 4 days we were there. Deffo recommend.

The only problem, for me was I would of loved to have my dog with me.

I respect other people’s property and would still do so with my dog.Many thanks for a fabulous time.

Premium Lodge

Firstly a huge thank you to the owners who are sharing their wonderful lodge with us. On arrival we were amazed at the quality Fallbarrow Galde offered. The welcome pack was truly welcomed, thank you! Quality bedding, furnishings, decor and the technology offered, wow!!! We have stayed in a number of lodges across White Cross Bay and this particular weekend we had rented two lodges between our family for the first time at Fallbarrow, none of the others compare. The weather was beautiful and the lodge takes in full vantage, with sun from morning through until night. However even if it rained the comfort offered surpasses any other accommodation in a lodge we have experienced. This lodge is something quite special, in a way I was loathed to leave a review as I don't want others to find out about this magnificent lodge, however that would be purely selfish and the owners deserve to succeed, they have gone above and beyond and their pride in their lodge shines through. Bank holiday weekend

An exceptional lodge, very bright and clean with everything provided for a family holiday, including travel cot, adjustable high chair and child booster seat. The facilities were excellent with toiletries provided including babybubble bath and good quality towels. The welcome pack of tea,coffee and bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Absolute luxury.

We had the most wonderful stay at fallbarrow glade. We holiday a lot and can honestly say this is by far the nicest accomodation we have stayed in. The lodge is bright, spacious, so tastefully decorated and furnished and IMMACULATE. I really miss my own home normally when we go away but I could easily have stayed here. Fallbarrow Glade Lodge.

Fallbarrow Glade Lodge is by far the best lodge I have stayed in. Everything is in pristine condition and very comfortable to stay in. The entertainment in the lodge is excellent too. Perfect

Fallbarrow Glade was just perfect for us. The lodge itself is in an ideal position within Fallbarrow Park - we were not overlooked and it felt peaceful and private. The lodge itself was wonderful. It was decorated to a high standard and quality. Extremely clean throughout. Very well equipped and we really appreciated the welcome pack with fresh milk on arrival. At one point during the week there was four adults and two children and the lodge still felt large with plenty of space for all of us - we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting in the sun on the lodge's terrace. What a fabulous weekend in a beautiful lodge

We booked the lodge for a long weekend in September. It looked lovely on the photos but when we actually saw it Wow! It was absolutely amazing! Light, modern, spacious (there were 6 adults), very well equipped and spotless! An absolute credit to the owners! Beautiful Lodge

We recently stayed in this lodge for a long weekend, it was lovely and clean with everything we needed to make our weekend complete. The setting was ideal, just a short walk from the Restaurant/Deli but still nice and quiet. Ideally located just a walk away from Bowness which with small children was great! No need for our car! Second stay here and won

This was our second stay this year at fallbarrow glade. We loved it so much the first time in the summer we had to come to back just before Christmas. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, there is nothing more you could ask for and it is absolutely immaculate. Location wise it is fantastic, just a short walk to bowness, facilities on site are great too. Again another lovely welcome pack which is so thoughtful. Thank you also for putting the Christmas tree up. Was a lovely touch and delighted my young girls. We will be back for visit three very soon. Thank you for an amazing start to our 2018 Christmas. Wonderful stay

We visited Windermere and our first time at Fallbarrow Glade Lodge. What a wonderful place! The lodge was welcoming and homely and every need catered for. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, the Sky TV was a hit with one of my family members too. The welcome gift was a lovely thought. We have already booked our return for later in the year. Perfection

Thank you once again to the owners for sharing their special place with us. Everything at Fallbarrow Glade is a step above. The lodge was super clean (& we are the type of people who take along spray and wipes wherever we go - no need here). Bedding quality, accessories, decor not to mention the sky package and Alexa, everything is beyond what we would normally expect, making for a luxurious stay! Location is great very central to Fallbarrow amenities, reception, bar and park. Having stayed at a number of lodges over the past three years with lake district lodges, this is the one that stands out on quality. Beautiful lodge for a relaxing break

The Glade has everything and more on offer. An ideal location especially for families with merely a 10 minutes walk to the hustle of the Bowness lake side. Our grandson twins are ecstatic with excitement when we arrive, and of course they don't ever want to leave. Tremendously equipped with a super kitchen, spacious layout with many assets including games, books and DVDs for the kiddies on a wet day. Bedrooms are cosy (one ensuite), comfiest beds, more than ample bedding. Central heating keeps the lodge aired throughout even on the wettest of days .......just perfect.........boats, trains, flora and fauna ....... Give it a try you won't be disappointed . Fabulous lodge! So impressed when we first stepped into the lodge, photos do not give it justice. Had everything you needed and all spotless. The best yet

We have been coming to Fallbarrow for a number of years now and I have to say I think the lodge was beautiful, it really was home from home, everything you needed the kitchen which is always handy the standard of decor and furnishing were outstanding. It was really lovey touch with the wine cake, milk tea and coffee, and TV and magazines really made us feel special. superb lodge in perfect location

This was our first visit to the Lakes and we all enjoyed it very much. lodge was beautiful, the best of many we have stayed in. Had all the equipment and home comforts that you could need and very tastefully decorated with good quality fittings. Previous reviews were spot on. Enjoyed the coffee and cake when we first arrived, just what we needed after a long drive. Plenty of things to do and look at in the area even if you are not an avid walker. We have stayed in a few lodges on a variety of sites but Fallbarrow Glade is by far the nicest one we have stayed in. The lodge is situated in a small gladed area close to the entrance so very handy for walking into Bowness. The lodge itself is beautifully decorated and the furnishings are very comfortable and homely. The cleanliness was outstanding. Perfect short break

We have stayed in lots of different lodges and self catering holiday accommodation but this was by far the best. The owners have thought of everything- from the practical to the luxuries and the lodge was spotless. There is a lovely private outdoor seating area for those long summer evenings The location of the lodge is quiet and close to the facilities and within 5mins you are in the centre of Bowness.
