With over 24 acres of parkland to explore by foot, over 100 species of wild and domestic animals and a highly educated team of wildlife experts on hand to feed you facts about your favourite animals – The Lake District Wildlife Park should be firmly seated at the top of any animal lovers bucket list.

Take an educated walk on the wild side

Begin your day with a gentle stroll around the park’s winding paths and exciting enclosures, meeting and greeting their charming family of wild, domestic and endangered residents. From mandrills, lar gibbons and zebras, to American bald eagles, red pandas and boa constrictors – there’s lots to see and do, so we highly recommend you start exploring early to make the most of your day out.

Visiting the Lake District with kids? After your morning of exploration, then head over to the encounter enclosure, where the kids will have the chance to cuddle guinea pigs and hug bunnies. Following a trip to the park’s must-visit Otter Enrichment and Red Panda talk, then why not challenge your fears, by joining one of their thrilling Snakes Alive and Reptile Encounters? Events and talks occur every half an hour from 11am, so there’s plenty of time for you to catch a slice of the action.

Tips/hints: Did you know that the Lake District Wildlife Park offer a wide selection of unique experiences, for animal fans to get up close and personal with their favourite animals? From getting the chance to be Apprentice Keeper, to experiencing a unique encounter with Meerkats and Lemurs- if you’re looking for the ultimate gift for animal fans- this is it! Our only advice, is that you MUST take a camera, to capture what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable day!

SEED Madagascar is just one of the charities the park supports, by donating 10% from every lemur encounter to the charity and raising awareness of their work during their educational talks.
