The property

This stunning Scandinavian-Style lodge, Scafell is located in the serene environment of White Cross Bay Holiday Park near Windermere, Cumbria. Scafell is a great spot for a family break, with access to a large range of on-site facilities and a stone's throw away from the Lake District National Park's magnificent scenery you can relish in the shade of the large trees and close proximity to the lake. When you arrive, you'll be greeted by three off-road parking places before heading up the steps to the decking and soak up your quiet location. Step inside to be met by the open-concept living area, where a kitchen with monochrome units has everything you need for a self-catering stay. Prepare a delectable dinner and dine at the dining table, which offers a great space to enjoy your evenings together or why not cosy up on the sofa after dinner and turn on the Smart TV to watch your favourite show or movie together? Visit the decked area outside on warm days for plenty of seating options and barbecues for alternative cooking. As the night draws to a close, go inside and find the bathroom. It has a Jacuzzi bath so you can unwind and an overhead shower. Three tastefully decorated bedrooms—a king-size with an en-suite, a zip/link twin, and a kid's bunk room—are available when sleep is necessary. Make use of the park's amenities, which include a laundromat, convenience shop, and bar/restaurant, all within walking distance. There are a range of activities and facilities to keep you occupied at the park, including spa facilities, a gym, and a swimming pool, as well as kid-friendly clubs, an entertainment venue, and a play area. Explore Windermere, a town with sweeping hills and the biggest natural lake in England. Fans of the well-known children's author must visit The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, while Brockhole on Windermere is ideal for families with its tree-top excursions, wildlife walks, and playgrounds. Discover Ambleside, a little town where you can enjoy traditional restaurants and pubs and stroll through busy streets in search of charming shops. Visit Bowness-on-Windermere, where you'll find ferries sailing to the West Shore and providing tours of Lake Windermere's islands, as well as the Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Windermere Golf Club. Ambleside, as well as the gems of Rydal and Grasmere, are located near the top of the lake, with a variety of peaks and hiking routes to explore. Choose Scafell for a lovely getaway to the Lake District.

About the location

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Scafell Lodge is accessed by 10 steps, the lodge is then all on the same level.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

There is a Good Housekeeping Bond of £250 for this property.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
