“Wonderful location in a quiet part of White cross bay, lodge backed onto the woods and we saw several deer, rabbits and a fox during our stay.”
Lodge itself is very clean and tidy, plenty of space for a family of 4 and probably more outdoor space than any other lodge on the site. The large hot tub was clean and ready to use as soon as we arrived and was regularly checked and cleaned out as we left. Kids loved the hot tub and spent every day in it, sometimes twice a day! The lodge is very private and even though people walked their dogs in the woods behind, it always seemed quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped and it even had a washer dryer which came in very handy for drying towels, as it does ask in the park info that towels are not left hanging over the decking. The only thing that would of helped in the kitchen would have been a couple of baking trays and some eggs cups. We stayed for two weeks with two small children and ate most meals at the lodge, so these few kitchen bits would have helped us. The dishwasher is a real bonus! The park itself is well maintained and excellent for families, we ate at the onsite pub a few times and the food was not bad at all. The kids loved being able to play on the children's play park whilst waiting for their food to arrive. We used the pool a few times, as use of the pool, sauna, Jacuzzi etc is now free (there used to be a weekly charge). Overall we would defiantly recommend Woodside Lodge for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday, excellent accommodation in a central location in the Lake District.
