Me and my wife and two dogs had a great time in this lodge, situated in a quite part of the park with a lovely hot tub and extremely clean and was also nice to have a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival . As far as i am aware we were the first people staying in this lodge after lockdown , and there was a few issues i.e bed broken on one side , toilet seat in one bathroom broken and shower temperature stuck at 45’ in en-suite. But once reported was either repaired same day or ordered parts although never saw the parts arrive as we was only there for three nights. I realise that it must of been impossible to check these things while shut down so it would not stop me going back as i found the support staff very polite , friendly and efficient when dealing with the issues. I will definitely return in the future . Kind regards Gary & Sharon Olney.

We stayed at Fir Tree Lodge in White Cross Bay for the week of Christmas. Deposits this supposedly being a busy time we found the park to be quiet and peaceful which was perfect. The park staff were friendly, inviting and helpful and the park is well maintained and conveniently located with both the beautiful towns of Windermere and Ambleside both a short drive away with Wray Castle being a worthy visit! The lodge itself was comfortable, cosy and well presented it was clean, well equipped and functional, it’s location being in the corner ticked an extra box! The only downsides we found with our stay was firstly regarding the park connection, the park has public WiFi for what it says is browsing etc however, throughout the week stay we couldn’t connect to the internet on one occasion, it would either not even be as an available network or if it was it wouldnt let us connect to it. I told the park staff but they couldnt help as their solution was to go and sit in the bar / reception area of the main park building but this wasn’t an options for us as nor was that in my opinion a remedy, there is also no signal whatsoever on the EE network and so this meant other than when we were out of the park we were completely offline with no signal or access online. Additionally, the master bed mattress needs replacing as it has several dips in it and there was only one toilet roll in the whole lodge. We chose this lodge for its location, facilities including the hot tub and also, the fact it allows dogs so for us this was a perfect Christmas getaway with our dog. The lodge has central heating and warms up in minutes there is also parking for 2 cars and plenty of space and storage. The Lake District is a truly beautiful place and I would recommend a visit, we will be returning again for sure. We have stayed at other lodges in the area, in our opinion White Cross Bay was our favourite and best locates if it wasn’t for the WiFi this stay would have been given 5 stars.

Thank you for your review, Ryan and we were pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Fir Tree Lodge. Regrettably the free wifi provided by White Cross Bay can be a bit hit and miss and we do make guests aware along with the fact that some mobile phone coverage is also patchy in the area. Although this can be an inconvenience for some, many people quite like being 'off the grid' for a complete break. The new owners of the lodge are undertaking some nice improvements and this will include a new mattress in the master bedroom. Fir Tree Lodge is a popular place to stay and firm favourite with guests enjoying a quiet location within White Cross Bay with that all important outside hot tub. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

First time in a log cabin for me and my partner and we were pleasantly surprised, spacious, tall ceilings and never feeling cramped like in a caravan. On arrival easy to get to with road signs, popped into reception checked in quick and easy and were shown exactly where the lodge was, didn’t feel stressed about getting lost. Lodge is in a perfect location as only 2 minute walk to the complex, and 5 minutes down to the lake, perfect! We chose this lodge as it was in a cul de sac and felt it would be more private. Lovely and quiet felt so relaxed the whole time especially with the hot tub ! Only downside was the double bed been broken so a little uncomfortable but wouldn’t stop us booking again !

Thank you for your review Sarah, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and wish to return! It would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Fir Tree is a very popular lodge and it has recently changed hands with the new owners undertaking some lovely improvements within the lodge. Noting your comment regarding the double bed, we have made the owners aware. Thank you for letting us know and we hope it did not take anything away from your stay.
