Great lodge with hot tub

Great lodge with added hot tub, great for us to be able to take dogs with us, slight issue was that our smaller dog could easily get through the wooden fencing!, plenty of room in lodge and everything you needed for your stay. Issue with the park - my wife is disabled and uses a mobility scooter, we found it difficult going around the park due to the speed humps which cover the whole of the roadway, could do with having a smooth bit on the edge for scooters/wheelchairs/pushchairs etc. also the bins were constantly full, so bags left all over including dirty nappies!

Lovely stay

The lodge was clean and comfortable and had everything you need to enjoy your stay. The correspondence from Lake District Lodge Holidays was excellent. I have stayed in other lodges provided by them and they have always been to a high standard and will be booking again in the future

Log cabin getaway

Fir tree log cabin was a great base for our stay in the Lake District. Plenty of outdoor space and very secure and seculded. It had everything you needed for Home from Home living including washing machine, dryer, ironing board, hairdryer, kitchen and cooking utensils etc. The dogs were comfortable and safe although signs within the park weren’t clear as to where you were heading and we never found the dog exercise area. The beer garden was nice but you did get forgotten about if you sat in it and ordered food. There was no indoor area on the park for dogs so unless it’s nice you have to sit outside. The cabin itself though was in a great location within the park and in the Lake District itself and was easy to find. it had plenty of amenities and a great base for our adventures. The books and maps provided were very useful for planning walks especially with the dogs. The stagecoach buses are well worth it and they take dogs too. Everyone was friendly and we weren’t bothered by anyone not even the hot tub maintenance guy. Definitely be looking at booking fir tree lodge for our Lakes getaway soon as we all really enjoyed it and recommend it.

Thank you for the review, Kelly and it is so pleasing to hear you enjoyed your stay at Fir Tree Lodge. Cosy, modern, well-equipped and in the heart of the Lake District, indeed a great base. Whilst we note that the park facilities and services were not quite to your satisfaction, as booking agents to privately owned lodges, these are something outside of our control although thank you for letting us know and we have passed your comments to the park management for their reference. Fir Tree Lodge is a wonderful place to relax and is enjoyed by all who stay here. We are delighted you are looking to return in the near future.

Lovely lodge in great spot!!

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Easter holidays with our 2 children and dog. The lodge was clean and ready on arrival and had everything we would need for our stay including games etc for our children! The hot tub was fantastic, nice and private too so you aren't on show to passers by!!! The only thing we would mention especially for families is that the layout of this lodge means that there is literally no living space in the lounge area for kids to Play etc. That being said there is a nice large decking area outside and the site itself has a park and games area. We would still return here as the hot tub was fab!

Thank you for your review of Fir Tree Lodge, Collette. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay, indeed a lovely lodge and a great location. The lodge can comfortably accommodate up to four guests and with two bathrooms is suitable for couples or families. As you rightly point out the outside area is spacious, perfect for entertaining or keeping an eye on the children and of course the hot tub is fantastic. We look forward to having you stay again in the near future.

Snowy scenes at Fir Tree Lodge

We had a wonderful first time long weekend visit in the park with the cabin and hot tub experience at Fir Tree. The sub zero temperatures did not dampen our spirits as we made the most of the 40 degree max temp in the hot tub whilst the snow fell around us. The homely living room with fire and superb power shower in the en-suite ensured an end to the goosebumps from the storm. Needless to say, we cannot recommend it high enough. Great place to unwind with beautiful scenery on your doorstep. We will be back. Thank you

Nice lodges, but let down when arrived as lodge was a bit smelly and took time to air out, cleaning products and rags left in the floor around the lodge and some silly bits and pieces broke ie door threshold/panneling on hot tub, Outside decking not been swept unfortunatly, But once that was all sorted quite a nice place to stay

Lovely Short Break

My girlfriend and I had a lovely trip to Fir Tree Lodge along with our dog. The lodge was clean, warm, and most of all very comfortable and felt extremely homely. Very nice touch to have a couple of Xmas trees up too. Location was good, and the hot tub was bliss. Only slight downside was that the wifi signal isn't accessible from inside the lodge, and if we wanted to use the wifi we would need to walk 50 yards down the path to connect to it. All in all, it is a lovely lodge and we certainly will be returning.

Thank you for your review and leaving such kind comments, Sean. We were pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Fir Tree Lodge although it is noted that the wi-fi was not as reliable as expected. We do inform guests prior to a stay that even though White Cross Bay have a free wi-fi connection, from our experience it can be unreliable due to the terrain, weather conditions and number of people using it. We trust it did not impact too much on your stay and we apologise for any inconvenience it may have caused. As you kindly point out Fir Tree is indeed very comfortable and homely and with the addition of a hot tub, where better to be for a relaxing break in the Lakes? We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.
