About Lake District Lodge Holidays
I started Lake District Lodge Holidays 'properly' in 2010 after my wife Paula & I decided to rent out our own holiday lodge at Limefitt Park. We quickly discovered that when we weren’t using the lodge ourselves it was fully booked all year round!
From that humble beginning we now arrange stays at over 90 lodges at 4 fabulous locations around Windermere. This makes us the largest independent holiday lodge rental company in the Region. Our core values remain true to this day and we now have a great team of local people working with us who also share the same passion.
We know you will enjoy the Lake District come rain or shine and whatever time of year you visit. You will not be disappointed as there is something for everybody and so much to see and do. In fact once you have visited the Lakes you may simply fall in love with what you see and keep coming back year after year. It really is a special place!
Director & Office Manager
I first fell in love with the Lake District when my husband Mark and I had our very first holiday together in Ambleside in 1991. Little did we know that we would one day be lucky enough to live and work in this beautiful part of the UK. I get great satisfaction in knowing we help people every day to enjoy such a spectacular place.
Outside of work, I love spending time with our Springer Spaniel and walking in the Langdales where I get to see my favourite Lake District residents – the wonderful Herdwick Sheep!
Guest Relations Manager
I joined the team in April 2016. My role is to ensure you have a great holiday through LDLH. I deal with queries relating to your stay, although I love hearing when we have surpassed your expectations.
Having been born in Kendal – the nearest maternity unit – I am technically a Kendalian rather than a Bowness-on-Windermere person but I can cope with that!! It does mean I know a bit about the best places to go.
Naturally it's the rain I like most about living up here although I do not object to those glorious sunny days we so often get when it isn’t raining. The secret is to go inside when it is raining and up the fells when it isn’t!!
Lodge Maintenance Manager
I am a Lake District Local having been born and raised in Windermere. My role with Lake District Lodge Holidays is Maintenance Manager and I look after the upkeep of our lodges to make sure everything is fully functional for your stay.
The Lake District is perfect on a hot sunny day! Strolling down to the Lakeshore and back home often popping in to one of our many pubs for cold refreshment is hard to beat.
My top tip for your holiday would be to visit the Belsfield Hotel, Bowness for an afternoon cream tea and sit in the gardens overlooking the Lake. Well worth the money!
Admin & Accounts Assistant
‘Born & bred’ here; I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I love the community spirit we have and I know I’m very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. I take great pleasure in planning my own family getaways so feel very privileged knowing I play a part in the process for visitors to our lovely Lake District.
When I’m not in the office, my husband and 3 children keep me busy and I like nothing more than a walk with our spaniel, Lola, whatever the weather!
My advice to anyone visiting the area would be to try to return in each of the seasons, as they’re so different. My favourite is autumn for all the colours…or maybe winter for the snow on the tops…but then again I do love the spring.
Senior Bookings Co-ordinator
A Kentish Maid relocated to the beautiful Lake District with my family 17 years ago.
I joined the LDLH team in May 2015 with knowledge of the surrounding area, local holiday parks and attractions. I'm more than happy to help our guests with their enquiries and love nothing more than hearing the excitement in someone's voice, when I've helped them find their perfect lodge holiday.
On a day off together, my husband and I like treating ourselves to lunch at our favourite pub the Watermill Inn at Ings, which has just been awarded "Own Brew Pub of the Year 2017".
My top tip would be "Making sure you pack for all weathers and bring a pair of comfy shoes”.
I’m a Mancunian, who moved to the Lakes 17 years ago, and it is definitely my spiritual home. Where else can you get four seasons in a few hours; views to make your heart flutter; wonderful beers and pubs; sticky toffee pudding; friendly folk, gingerbread and herdwick sheep?
Add that to a wander down by the lakeshore to watch the sunset and life is good, always with a dog or two for company! My tip would be as long as you dress for the weather you can’t go far wrong.
Each season brings its own special moments – Autumn is a favourite of mine with the glorious colours…There’s always lots to do inside and out, and even if its cold and wet, what better than to sink into a bubbling hot tub at one of our lodges at the end of a busy day?
Whilst I was born in London, I made the decision to move to the Lake District due to my love for the National Park and all that it has to offer. I already knew the Lake District well having grown up with parents who ensured I had climbed all the Wainwrights by the time I was 10! That passion for hiking and the outdoors has continued throughout my life, both overseas and in the UK.
To this day, I take every opportunity to lose myself in the surrounding mountains and simply explore the local towns and villages. Even though I have been lucky enough to live in several countries, I cannot imagine living anywhere else and am proud to call the Lake District my home.
When not working you can usually find me at the local animal shelter where I volunteer as a ‘cat cuddler’, dog walker and assistant to anything furry with 4 legs. I try to pretend at work that I’m not a crazy cat lady but I think they have sussed me out!
My top tip - The Lake District is a haven for dogs; bring your 4 legged family members with you! And always take a map!
