Welcome to Mere, a two bedroom holiday lodge with lake front position Wow - what a view! Mere Lodge is beautifully decorated with stunning views across Lake Windermere from its enviable lake front position at Fallbarrow Park. The lodge offers guests a comfortable and cosy retreat from which to simply relax, unwind and admire the scenery. It is ideal for families or couples sleeping up to 4 guests. With plenty of shops and places to eat out in Bowness-on-Windermere, a short walk away, Mere Lodge is a fantastic choice for an unforgettable holiday. Please note: The owners bring their own dog (Lhasa Apso) when staying. This breed is classed as hypoallergenic as they do not shed their coats. Accommodation Details Living area: - Bright and spacious open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area - The lounge area has full length picture windows affording a stunning lake view - 2 and 3 seater fabric sofas plus coffee table - Wall mounted 42" flat screen TV - Feature electric fire - For your entertainment there is a Blu Ray DVD player plus Panasonic CD/DAB unit with Bluetooth connectivity - Dining table with 4 chairs Kitchen area: - The well equipped and appointed fitted kitchen includes a built in electric oven with gas hob, full size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, cutlery and crockery plus plenty of storage space - Island sink and preparation area with drawers Master bedroom: - King size bed, fitted wardrobes and bedside drawers - Wall mounted TV - En suite shower room with walk in shower, toilet, hand basin, vanity unit and a radiator/towel rail Second bedroom: - Full size twin beds, bedside drawer and free standing wardrobe Family bathroom: - The family size bathroom has a full size bath with over bath thermostatic mixer shower, toilet and hand basin Other information: - Washer/dryer in the hallway boiler cupboard - Full central heating and double glazing ensuring a comfortable stay all year round - Please note: Guests staying at Fallbarrow during January and February should note that there will be limited onsite facilities. Reception will be open but the Boathouse Bar and Restaurant will be closed. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes in nearby Bowness on Windermere just a short 5 minute walk away.

Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and “Go-Ape” adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.

Mere is accessed by 7 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

There is insufficient space to fit a travel cot in any of the bedrooms and would have to be placed in the living room area. Please bring your own travel cot and highchair as they are not provided.

Sorry we are unable to accept dogs at Mere Lodge, however, the owners bring their own dog when staying. This breed is classed as hypoallergenic as they do not shed their coats.

Fallbarrrow Park management lock the entrance gates at midnight. If you are arriving after midnight, please call the night warden.

Park Rules and Operations – Fallbarrow

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
