“I've held off as long as possible in posting a review, to give the owners and Sykes time to respond to my complaint, but still not a word 4 weeks later.”

I called Sykes immediately to report these, as there was a good housekeeping bond and we didn't want to be charged. Skyes said they would get hold of the owners and see what they wanted to do. I was expecting a call back inna day or two, but nothing.
During our stay, there were other things that we came across;
Kettle not switching off, oven filthy, bulb had blown in the ensuite, hoover not fit for purpose (not picking up and overheating), mouldy skirting board in ensuite and generally everywhere needing a good clean.
Looking back at previous comments, most of these are reoccurring issues and have still not been resolved.
The Lodge is on a lovely site, in a nice location. It's just such a shame that it's been neglected and issues not resolved.
