    “The short break from hell.”

    Arrived on the Monday evening for a four night break. Early on the Tuesday morning roadworks started on the site road just behind our lodge with all the associated noise of concrete saws and vibration plates. More roadworks on the Wednesday. A quieter day on the Thursday until the evening when the electricity substation blew leading to a night without power until a portable generator was brought-in, around 22h00, resulting in more insufferable noise all night (about 50m away) until our Friday ...

    Thank you for taking the time to review your stay and we are sorry to hear of the experience you encountered. The property is located on a operational holiday park and therefore, work is carried out from time to time. Unfortunately, we had no prior knowledge of this otherwise we would have made you aware. Whilst we appreciate you were inconvenienced by the power outage, this was something outside of our control and although the noise from the generator would have been a disturbance, this was arranged by the electrical company in order to get power to the properties. Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review and if you were to visit again, hopefully you will have a more peaceful break. Property Owner

Welcome to Pinehaven, a comfortable three bedroom holiday lodge Pinehaven is an older style lodge offering basic yet comfortable accommodation in the Grasmere area of White Cross Bay.

It is ideal for families sleeping up to 6 guests plus an infant in a travel cot.

The clubhouse and facilities are just a short distance away.

The lodge is cosy and well equipped offering a great base from which to explore the Lake District.

White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay holiday park nestles on the shores of Lake Windermere, midway between Windermere and Ambleside, in the Lake District National Park. Consisting of many lodges, it offers a restaurant, pub, shop, entertainment room, amusement arcade, indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, children's staffed activity centre, marina and outdoor play areas. Lake Windermere, the largest and most popular in the area, boasts a wide range of lakeside activities from walking and cycling to rowing, horse riding, taking a trip on the steam railway, plus lake cruises from Bowness to the pretty village of Ambleside and down to Lakeside, which has a celebrated aquarium. Children will also enjoy The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere, where technology brings her characters to life, and Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its Treetop Trek aerial adventure is a short walk away from the site. With destinations including Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains all within easy reach, this location is perfect for a Lake District holiday at any time of the year.

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Pinehaven is accessed by two sets of plastic steps to the front and side of the lodge. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot will fit in the master bedroom only. Please bring your own highchair as one is not provided. There is a travel cot available in the lodge for you to use.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
