    “The lodge looked nice and clean when we first arrived.”

    The kitchen was fully equipped, which was great, and the living room felt cosy and welcoming. However, the bunk bedroom was disappointing. The bedding had an unpleasant smell and did not seem to have been washed or changed after the previous guests. There was also noticeable dust on the doors. On a positive note, the two double bedrooms were clean and had fresh bedding, which made them comfortable to use. Additionally, there was quite a lot of noise from dogs in the area. On one night ...

On one night in particular, the constant barking made it difficult to sleep peacefully. Overall, the lodge itself was decent, but due to the cleanliness issues in one of the rooms, our experience was affected. If we were to consider staying at your lodge again, we would appreciate a discount.

Welcome to Tanglewood, a well equipped three bedroom holiday lodge Tanglewood is a spacious and modern holiday lodge in the Thirlmere area of White Cross Bay.

The lodge benefits from being a short distance to the lake and marina.

Larger than most lodges, Tanglewood will uniquely sleep up to 8 guests offering 2 double bedrooms, both with king size beds, plus a third bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds.

A great choice for larger families! Please note: The maximum number of adults permitted is 6 as 2 guests will need to sleep on the bottom bunks.

A maximum of 4 children can also stay at any one time (with 4 adults).

Sorry we are unable to accept dogs at Tanglewood Lodge. White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay holiday park nestles on the shores of Lake Windermere, midway between Windermere and Ambleside, in the Lake District National Park. Consisting of many lodges, it offers a restaurant, pub, shop, entertainment room, amusement arcade, indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, children's staffed activity centre, marina and outdoor play areas. Lake Windermere, the largest and most popular in the area, boasts a wide range of lakeside activities from walking and cycling to rowing, horse riding, taking a trip on the steam railway, plus lake cruises from Bowness to the pretty village of Ambleside and down to Lakeside, which has a celebrated aquarium. Children will also enjoy The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere, where technology brings her characters to life, and Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with its Treetop Trek aerial adventure is a short walk away from the site. With destinations including Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains all within easy reach, this location is perfect for a Lake District holiday at any time of the year.

WINDERMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Tanglewood is accessed by 6 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot and highchair can be provided, please request on booking. Travel cot will fit in the second bedroom only. . Please bring your own bedding for use with travel cot.

BBQs are not permitted at this lodge due to the composite/plastic decking.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
