The lodge is self catering and at the start of a stay a fresh toilet roll (per toilet), hand soap per sink (either hand pump or sealed hotel style packet) an oven glove, washing up cloth, scourer and washing up liquid (and dishwasher tablets if applicable) are provided. These may not be sufficient for the duration of your stay depending on the number of people staying.
No the lodge is self catering. There is a Booths Supermarket, Co-op and Sainsburys Local in Windermere, Tesco Express and Co-op in Bowness as well as a Spar at the petrol station in nearby Troutbeck Bridge.
Some lodges may have a barbeque but we cannot guarantee that it will be in working order or clean (nor can we accept any responsibility for this). If this is the case it can be used as stand. Most lodges do have a slab on which to use a disposable barbeque. Our advice is to take/purchase a disposable barbeque and use either on the slab or the barbeque frame which may be there.
Yes Asda & Tesco deliver to the parks. However, you will need to arrange to meet them at reception and escort them to your lodge.
Yes but dogs only at those lodges which will accept them. Most lodges accept a maximum of 2 dogs at a £10 supplement per dog per stay. No other pets will be accepted.
Guests should note that as with most self catering accommodations, dogs should not be left alone in a lodge at any time. Park rules at Limefitt Park, Fallbarrow & White Cross Bay specifically forbid this.
Similarly dogs are not allowed to sit or sleep on any furniture or beds. Please clean up after your dog when walking around the park and if they use the deck areas.
Regrettably dogs are not allowed into the clubhouse at White Cross Bay although they can be taken into the outdoor seating area. Sorry this is the park’s policy. However they are welcome at many pubs across the Lake District.
The Haybarn Inn at Limefitt Park and the clubhouse at Fallbarrow both allow well behaved dogs inside.
There are 4 locations: Limefitt Park is set in the Troutbeck Valley some 3 miles from Windermere, White Cross Bay is on the shores of Lake Windermere equidistant from Windermere and Ambleside, Fallbarrow is in the centre of Bowness on Windermere. All the parks are close and convenient to the many attractions and things to do in the local area. We will provide full directions including sat-nav input in your arrival pack.
High Borrans Lodges are at High Borrans Farm between Ings village and Troutbeck.
All lodges are self entry and we will provide a code to the key safe so you can let yourself in on arrival. For lodges at Fallbarrow keys are collected from the main reception. For lodges at High Borrans the lodge is left unlocked for your arrival with the key inside.
All gas and electricity is included in your price (see above).
No. All our lodges are designated strictly no smoking.
Limefitt Park, Fallbarrow and White Cross Bay have a free Wi-Fi connection (following registration). From our experience it can be unreliable due to the terrain, weather conditions and number of people using it. It is usually only good for basic surfing and emails.
At Limefitt Park, there is a broadband line providing unlimited and speedy access at Esthwaite, Hill Lodge, Ramblers Rest, Osprey’s Nest and Rowan Lodge free of charge.
At White Cross Bay Megala Lodge has its own dedicated Wi-Fi connection.
At Fallbarrow Park Fallbarrow Glade Lodge has its own dedicated Wi-Fi connection.
High Borrans has radio Wi-Fi to each lodge.
