    “We had a great stay in this lodge.”


    Although a bit more compact than the lodge we usually stay in it felt really cosy, especially with the dark nights drawing in. The addition of the Sky package was brilliant and the instructions on how to use it were clear. The location was great as we could walk into Windermere and it was just down the road from the visitor centre. The only downside was you had to buy an entertainment pass for What did you enjoy most about your stay? It's nice cosy feel. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The Lake District Visitor Centre is great for things to do.

Welcome to Grandpa's, a comfortable two bedroom holiday lodge Grandpa's is a charming 2 bedroom lodge in the popular Bowness area of White Cross Bay. It enjoys a great position just a few hundred yards from Lake Windermere. The lodge is well equipped with everything you might need for a relaxing stay. Grandpa's offers Sky Sports and entertainment channels - perfect to keep all the family happy on a wet evening! Outside there is a spacious deck with glimpses of the lake - a delightful place to sit and enjoy a glass of something. Grandpa's Lodge offers a welcoming retreat from which to relax and unwind. Sorry we are unable to accepts dogs at Grandpa's Lodge. Accommodation Details Living area: - Entrance into the lounge through double patio doors to the front of the lodge - Spacious lounge with two 2 seater leather sofas - Feature electric fire - Wall mounted TV with Sky Sports and Entertainment Channels. Surround sound system for TV/DVD, iPod and Blu-ray player - Separate dining area with table and 4 chairs - There is a cupboard off the dining area with a washer/dryer Kitchen area: - Fitted kitchen with granite worktops - Kitchen equipment includes a 4 ring gas hob with electric oven, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave - Tassimo coffee machine (Please bring your own pods) Master bedroom: - Double bed - Mirror fronted wardrobe and bedside drawers - Wall mounted TV - There is a door which leads to the decking area - En suite shower room with corner shower cubicle and multi jet shower, hand basin and toilet Second bedroom: - Full size twin beds - Bedside table and mirror fronted wardrobe - Wall mounted TV Family bathroom: - The main bathroom includes an over bath shower and screen, hand basin and toilet Other information: - Centrally heated ensuring a comfortable stay all year round - There is a selection of DVDs in the lodge

  • Spacious open plan living space with kitchen, lounge, and separate dining area
  • The lodge is accessed by 3 stone steps to a small flagged area and then a further 5 wooden steps to the gated decking, where you can see the lake
  • The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level
  • There is 1 step up to the decking area where the patio furniture is located
  • A barbecue slab is provided, please bring your own BBQ and dispose of responsibly.
  • Full gas central heating
  • Gas hob and electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, Tassimo coffee machine (please bring own pods),electric fire, TV/DVD player with Sky Sports and Entertainment channels, surround sound system for TV/DVD player, iPod , Blu-ray player,both bedrooms have TVs

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

A travel cot and highchair are not provided, please bring your own. The travel cot will fit in both bedrooms.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, gym, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Subject to White Cross Bay Holiday Park rules:
Commercial vehicles, caravans or camper vans cannot be parked on the site.
Hen or stag parties are not permitted.

There is a Good Housekeeping Bond of £100 for this property.
