Looking for a dog friendly place to stay in the Lake District? Give the four-legged member of your family a holiday too! The Lake District is the ideal place to bring your dog on holiday and many of our holiday lodges and log cabins welcome dogs. There are miles of footpaths and walks to keep even the most active dog happy with many dog friendly attractions to visit. Most Lake District Pubs will welcome dogs in for a sleep by the fire or a welcome drink too (a bowl of water that is). We think we have the most ‘dog friendly’ destination in Britain!
Back to your lodge for the evening, whilst your dog sleeps off their long walk and recharges the batteries for another day out and about. With dog owners in our office we will be delighted to share our dog walking routes with you. The Troutbeck Valley, School Knott in Windermere, Tarn Hows, Latterbarrow and The Grizedale Forest are great places for dog friendly exploring in the local area. Check out our Things to Do page for more ideas.
All our dog-friendly lodges have gated decks to ensure your pooch can safely enjoy their stay. Limefitt Park has a spectacular dog field just for your four-legged friend and The Haybarn Pub here welcomes dogs.
There are woodland dog walks within White Cross Bay and an outside dog friendly garden adjacent to the clubhouse (sorry but dogs are not allowed in the main clubhouse complex).
No matter what you choose to do, our dog friendly holiday lodges and log cabins are the perfect base for your canine adventures in The Lake District. We have a huge choice ranging from the traditional log cabin to the modern luxury lodge.
Take your pick as we have something for everyone!
Guests should note the following when bringing their dogs:
Your dog/s must be fully house trained. Usually we accept 2 but for some lodges it is restricted. Please refer to the information on each lodge. There are rules for accepting dogs in our booking terms and conditions.
As with most self catering accommodations, dogs should not be left alone in a lodge at any time. Park rules at Limefitt Park, Fallbarrow & White Cross Bay specifically forbid this.
Dogs are not allowed on beds and furniture. Please clean up after your dog at all times and use designated ‘dog poo’ bins.
Guests should note that dogs are not allowed in the clubhouse at White Cross bay (although they can use the outside beer garden). The Haybarn Inn at Limefitt Park and the clubhouse at Fallbarrow both allow well behaved dogs inside.
High Borrans is a working farm and dogs should be kept on a lead near livestock.
